Propaganda: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one’s cause or damage an opposing cause. Propaganda has a long history in America. I’m not talking about a differing idea, but the active use or hiding of information to advance your agenda at the expense of your opponents. There are plenty of recent examples of propaganda being used against the American people, and we can see the effects of many of them, and I’ll talk about some of them today. We need to realize, though, that with freedom of speech comes the freedom to use propaganda. What can we do? I’ll also talk about ways to recognize propaganda and how we can not only teach ourselves, but our children, how to stand against it.
