She would have been about Anne Frank’s age if Anne Frank had survived the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp during World War II. This month she was forced into hiding from the German authorities, just like Anne was some 75 years ago.

Like Anne, she was being protected from the German authorities by activists. Inna Zhvanetskaya is her name. She is a Jewish Holocaust survivor born in Ukraine in 1937. She was sentenced by a German court to be forcibly institutionalized in a closed (locked) psychiatric ward for two years, and court ordered to forcibly be injected with two doses of a COVID vaccine.1 To date, she has refused the vaccine.

Fox News now reports, on January 16th, that Zhvanetskaya’s lawyer Holger Fischer said the court order has been overruled by a regional court, so for the time being, again, she is safe.

Fame did not protect her in her elder years. Inna Zhvanetskaya is famous in Ukraine as a composer. She fled her German home and was in hiding, afraid for her life and afraid of losing all she loves in life, especially her music and ability to compose.

The court order, which has not been overturned by a regional court, was brought by her professional guardian. The order included a list of psychiatric diagnoses offered by the guardian as well as her refusal to be vaccinated. These were being used as reasons for her need to be locked up against her will, “for her own good.” This was done by her guardian despite the German national federation of professional guardians publicly stating on their website that they are “strictly against forced vaccinations of patients against their wishes.”2

Several journalists and advocates who heard about this injustice have investigated and have stated that Zhvanestskaya does not display signs of the psychiatric diagnoses she has been labeled with by her guardian. As Dr. Peter Breggin has documented for decades, diagnoses can be used as a cudgel to forcibly control someone. So often, psychiatry becomes the enforcer.

Mascha Orel, co-founder of a humanitarian organization for holocaust survivors, reportedly spoke with Zhvanetskaya and said she cannot confirm any of the diagnoses that were alleged in the court order. “I talked to her on the phone for an hour,” Orel said. “She is vulnerable, frightened, and has lived in this state for about two years as her legal guardian has apparently tried to institutionalize her several times.”

The blog “tkp—The blog for science & politics” reported, “The good news for the time being: the almost 86-year-old Ukrainian Jew, Inna Zhvanetskaya, who survived the Holocaust as a child, was taken to a safe place by activists and could therefore not be forcibly vaccinated until now. Everything else that can or must be reported about this case is bad, because it turns out that in the land of the Shoah, descendants of the perpetrators have learned little or nothing.”3

Sadly, forced COVID vaccinations are not the only abusive threats facing this elder person and any other elder, especially if a woman, should she be found and involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward.4 Women held against their will in psychiatric wards are virtually guaranteed to be forcibly medicated with dangerous psychiatric drugs5 that can be permanently disfiguring or disabling.6 They are also at grave risk of also being subjected to electroshock.7

The ability of psychiatry to label and then coerce individuals is uncontainable and provides a huge opportunity for abuse. For each Inna Zhvanetskaya, who just wants to be at home with her music, exercising her right to the autonomy of her body by refusing the COVID vaccination, there are hundreds if not thousands of elders, mostly women, who are involuntarily locked up and forcibly vaccinated, drugged, and too often barbarically electroshocked.

For the moment, Inna Zhvanetskaya is safe, but she should be able to be permanently safe in her own home and secure in her own autonomy. What is happening to her is a microcosm of what happens to our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers because of the overarching authority and abusive powers of psychiatry.
