The “convict a policeman at all costs trial” against officer Derek Chauvin now ongoing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, over the death of a felonious black criminal named George Floyd who resisted his apprehension, has all the earmarks of a Soviet-style circus trial with an already predetermined verdict waiting to be arrived at before the officer is denounced, humiliated, convicted, beaten and sent to a prison reeducation camp for law enforcement officers who don’t toe the politically correct ‘Woke’ line.

Interestingly, and unusual for criminal trials, this one is being televised live so all the Antifa, BLM, and social justice warriors can be prepared to be outraged and go on a riotous killing spree when officer Chauvin is found not guilty and freed. The social justice warrior won’t be getting their pound of flesh because I believe, as do so many others, that America still tries to operate a fair system of justice within the bounds of the law, and that includes rules of evidence and how evidence is presented, under oath or affirmation, in a proper trial setting. But, we know the Left lies!

So far, all I have heard is weeping opinions from snowflake witnesses who didn’t like what they saw.A department lieutenant testified the neck issue was not proper police procedure directly contrary to what was in fact taught in their police academy on how to restrain suspects who were aggressively resisting arrest and refused to cooperate.

Lt. Johnny Mercil was a department official who, because of the prosecutors’ effort to discredit the defense argument that officer Chauvin was doing exactly what he was trained to do, put his knee on George Floyd’s neck would kill their case. Enter a Police Crisis Intervention Coordinator, Sgt. Ker Yang, a Minneapolis police official (not officer), presented the snowflake nonsense version of how department officers should be trained to make PC felony arrests to defuse tense situations with people in crisis and how police ‘must’ use the least amount of force necessary to achieve compliance. Well, that has always been the case, even back in the 1960s when I was a cop.

The question is, at what point in an incident does a suspect resisting arrest not become a ‘tense situation?’ And, in hindsight, who makes that decision? And then this moronic comment to the jury from the witness stand: Officers “were taught that the sanctity of life and protection of the public is the cornerstone of the department’s use-of-force policy.”

Here’s a flash: any use of force policy still must end with a successful arrest. An arresting officer is under no obligation to be killed because politically correct thinking doesn’t permit the use of deadly force to end the tense situation the perpetrator caused in the first place. It comes with the job.

In redefining meanings of words, the Left’s “Newspeak,” as George Orwell described the term in his novel 1984, has come to this: The word ‘Restraint’ is now redefined as “force,” not the end of force but that officers must use the least force (restraint) needed because “it’s safer and better for everybody involved.” Figure that one out. If a police officer is making an arrest and it turns ugly because the criminal doesn’t want to comply, when does the arrest cease? When the perp is in the seat of a patrol car headed for jail, when he’s already in jail, or when he’s supine on the sidewalk but still fighting? The Minnesota police staff have redefined arrests and testified to that under oath. So police arrest procedures have been irrevocably changed. Who thinks up this stuff?

Because Floyd, a black felon at the time of his apprehension, suffered from congestive heart failure and his body filled with lethal amounts of illicit drugs expired under the restraining knee of a white policeman, then some form of homicide must therefore apply? We have seen no evidence of it yet and if this sort of attack continues against our policemen, wait until vigilantism takes over. Americans are getting tired of the communist crap, and it must end soon!

Remember, freedom is the goal; the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ’em!
