The video of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man jogging in Glynn County in southeast Georgia, is a stark reminder in that racial hatred still exist in 2020. In the video, Ahmaud crosses in front of a truck with two white men holding guns and a struggle ensues. Three gunshots are fired, Arbery begins to run away and falls to the ground, he is dead.
In a separate incident, TMZ released a video from a 2017 encounter with Ahmaud Arbery and the police in Glynn County. The video of Ahmaud getting frisked and patted down by cops in 2017 shines a light on the Glynn County PD’s attitude toward black people … keeping in mind Gregory McMichael, one of the shooters, was once a member of that force. As in most all criminal cases like this one, there is much more to the story here.
