In case anyone is wondering just what Vladimir Putin’s ultimate goal is, the answer is really pretty simple. What’s taking place in Eastern Europe right now isn’t about Ukraine. It’s about Vladimir Putin wanting to rub America’s nose in it. He wants revenge for the gloating and insults he feels were heaped upon Mother Russia by American politicians following the collapse of the then Soviet Union in 1992.

Americans ballyhooed to the world how we defeated Soviet communism without firing a shot. Which really wasn’t true, many shots were fired and a lot of lives were lost in a Cold War that lasted for roughly fifty years, and took place on nearly every continent.

When the Soviet Union collapsed Vladimir Putin was severely stung by it. He took it personally. Above all else, Putin considers himself a Russian patriot. He resented the insults and especially what he perceived as all the gloating going on in the West.

And he vowed to himself then and there that one day he would return Russia’s honor and rightful place as a world superpower. As the old saying goes, patience is a virtue. And in the case of Vladimir Putin, he indeed was a patient man. He believed based on history that America would be led once again by someone that he could muscle.

When Barack Obama moved into the White House Putin recognized that Obama was a weak and timid individual, and that the focus of his administration was all about ‘social justice’. Putin exploited this by moving into the former Soviet republic of Georgia, and then followed by his annexation of Crimea. For neither of which did Russia pay any real price.

The Trump presidency offered a different dynamic, and Putin suspended his aggressive tactics for a while, not really certain what kind of president⏤Donald Trump was. For Putin one thing was certain though, Donald Trump was not going to be someone that he could push around or bluff.

With all the turmoil in American politics, Putin was pretty sure that the tides would change. At least if nothing else, President Trump would be distracted by all the attacks against him, and politically his options in dealing with Russia would be more difficult because of the Democrats in Washington. Which proved to be true.

Once Joe Biden was installed into the White House, Putin must have leaped for joy. Putin knew that Biden was a corrupt man, and also that he had never been a very intelligent man before his dementia started to take control.

Putin also knew that the real power behind Biden and the person pulling his strings was Barack Obama. The same weak and morally corrupt individual who Putin laughed at right to his face before. All bets were now off, and Putin’s goal of reestablishing Russian domination of Eastern Europe, and hopefully all of Europe were back on track. And then Putin would be the one to be gloating.

That’s what we now face as a country.

A resurgent Russia led by Vladimir Putin who is determined to exact revenge against anyone who ever rejoiced over the fall of the Soviet Union, and levied insults against Mother Russia. So buckle up folks, the Cold War 2.0 is upon us, and it will indeed touch our shores, perhaps through attacks on our infrastructure, as well as our economy.

Putin views America as weak and decadent. We are. He believes our military leadership is more interested in who someone has sex with, and which bathroom they should use⏤than winning battles. He’s right. He no longer respects nor fears our once-formidable military might.

Putin knows that our military leaders lack the warrior mentality. It’s not allowed anymore. Nor do we think strategically. Putin is a chess player, and he is thinking two or three moves ahead of us. While we’re still setting up our pieces on the chessboard. And Putin will continue to exploit that.

Sadly, because of America’s distraction with social justice issues, our national security has been diminished. The damage being done will take many years to repair, if we will be able to repair it at all.

The Cold War 2.0 is upon us whether we like it or not. The next three years will determine whether or not we survive as a world leader, or we become just another follower, grateful for the scraps thrown our way.
