Martin Niemöller wrote a poem about how the complacency of the German people under the Nazi regime allowed the atrocities to occur. Today, we are witnessing the government in Washington, D.C., attempting to replace the Constitution with their own dictatorial rule of law. If the American people are as complacent as the German people were in the 1930s, then we will be just as complicit in the guilt of our tyrants, and they were. We cannot depend on federal courts to protect us; they are not only part of the very government reducing you to utter despotism; they have worked hard to make it happen. We cannot depend on our states to protect us, as even those states who have “stood up” against this usurpation of power are acting more like vassals than free and independent states. No, if our rights, liberty, and constitutional republic are to survive, it will once again be up to the American people to do so.
So what do we do? How can we help and make a difference?
First, as John Jay said, you need to read and study the Constitution so you can recognize when your rights are being violated and be prepared to defend & assert them. Once you have a grasp of the Constitution of the United States, it’s a good idea to understand the Constitution of your state. You can find more information at my websites Constitution Study and Constitution Scholars.
Second, while we tend to focus on Washington, D.C. and our state houses, it is more important that we secure our homes, cities, and counties. If we are not safe at home, we cannot effectively fight on the front lines. I recommend people meet with their Sheriff, who is the chief law enforcement officer in the county. If the Sheriff understands his or her role and the oath they took to support the Constitutions of their state and the United States, you can work with them to make sure your rights are protected at home. If the Sheriff does not understand, or refuses to uphold their oath of office, it’s time to find a better Sheriff.
There are plenty of tools out there to help you along. I’ve already pointed you to my websites. I also hold a live Q&A twice a month. You can watch on YouTube or register to join the Zoom call. I hope this gets you started.
