Major League Baseball is enveloped in controversy as the LA Dodgers extended an invite to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. America’s past-time has been a long tradition for the family to take in 9 innings over a hot dog and snacks while watching baseball on the field. This family entertainment tradition is being challenged during an upcoming pride night celebration where the San Francisco-based group will appear. Videos online show that the group dresses in drag as nuns while doing salacious and blasphemous acts to a figure on a crucifix.
The inclusion of the group was originally canceled, and then an apology and a new invite went out after the Dodgers heard from the LGBTQIA+ community and a boycott was threatened. The community of baseball goers is likely much larger than the LGBTQIA+ community. The Dodgers made the decision because of one simple truth, Americans are not upset enough to care. They will come on to Twitter and socials and vent, but at the end of the day, they will show up to the game while claiming their disgust.
Chris Michaels, from the Last Call with Chris Michael’s podcast, joins me for our Friday recap of headlines, and we hear from special guest, Catholic priest, Fr. John Gribowich. John happens to be living in San Francisco currently, and he offers an interesting perspective on the Dodgers’ situation and society as a whole.
In the second half, we discuss Ron DeSantis, Debt Default, Trump, RFK Jr., and much more.
