As the fight between good and evil continues forward, another tragic chapter is added to the emerging COVID-19 nightmare mounting in the pages of our current historical archives concerning the lives of America’s newborns.

That nightmare is the shortage of baby food products and formulas.

What’s the cause of empty food suppliers’ shelves once filled with an excess of baby food products and formulas are now void or in limited supply.

Is it another worn-out supply chain narrative or the fact that America’s baby food supply has been recalled due to congressional investigative findings of toxic compounds causing ill health and death to infants alongside mounting lawsuits?

Yesterday’s carefree world of the happy Gerber baby is now today’s burden of worry due to health issues stemming from baby food products.

Unfortunately, this emerging crisis is linked to the production of toxic baby food and formula not only within the last few years but stretching over a couple of decades.

Presently million-dollar lawsuits are building for failure to warn the public of the risks of feeding these products to premature infants.

The spotlight is now falling upon the major corporations of Abbott Laboratories – Similac products and Mead Johnson for Enfamil baby formulas allegedly containing harmful toxins.

Investigations are multiplying throughout all 50 states with claims of gastrointestinal severe bacterial infections called Necrotizing Enterocolitis or (NEC) that link cow-milk formulas that cause inflammation of the bowels resulting in tissue decay within the intestinal walls of premature infants, causing lifelong damages or death to the child.

Updated information on March 11, 2022, with a recall for Similac, Elecare, and Alimentum issued on February 17, 2022, after powdered instant baby formulas were linked to a fatal Cronobacter and Salmonella outbreak.

On February 28, 2022, Abbott Nutrition expanded a recall that included the specialty formula Similac PM 60/40 with the lot code 27032K800.

On March 11, 2022, the FDA alerted users of other specialty formulas created by Abbott that these products may be contaminated with Cronobacter but were not included in the recall.

Concerning all of the recalled Abbott Nutrition products made in their Sturgis MI facility from November 1, 2020, to February 17, 2022, products included in the Similac, Alimentum, and EleCare recall can be identified by following information on the bottom of the can:

* The first two digits of the code are 22 through 37
* The code on the container contains K8, SH, or Z2
* The expiration date is 4-1-2022 or later

With an average of 40% of popular brands of baby formula sold out in grocery stores and drug stores across the nation, major retailers such as Target, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens are limiting the number of purchases.

The best line of defense for parents of newborn infants is to prepare ahead of time. Knowledge is key. Do your research into the organic markets outside of the US for baby formulas that will resonate with your beliefs and budget.

Over 9,000 Premature babies suffer from NEC every year, and 1 in 4 will pass away from this devastating disease; these negligent people knew this was happening, and now they are meeting their financial fate with lawsuits.

Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) occurs in premature babies, usually during the first two-six weeks after birth; The discomfort of swollen tissue and inflammation these newborns experience is sometimes mistaken as Colic when infants with NEC are unable to digest food through their digestive tract.

Infants experience some or all of the following disorders: abdominal distention; diarrhea, swollen; red or tender belly; feeding intolerance; vomiting; apnea; hypotension; bradycardia; and temperature instability.

For at least two decades, these formula corporations have known cows-milked-based formulas and fortifiers maim and kill premature infants. Yet they keep producing toxic baby formulas for the innocent families who trust them.

– Premature babies weighing less than two pounds at birth are most susceptible to NEC
– Premature babies having complications with delivery
– Infants who received a blood transfusion
– Premature babies with high level of red blood cells in circulation
– Premature babies with low oxygen levels

If the news of baby formula isn’t egregious enough to digest, then here is more insult to injury, knowing that America’s baby food itself was tested and facts proved heavy metals were found within the 168 major US manufacturers as 94% contained lead, 32%contained mercury, 73% contained arsenic, and 74% contained cadmium.

On February 4, 2021:

“The Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy Committee on Oversight and Reform, U.S. House of Representatives” reported that Baby Foods Are Tainted with Dangerous Levels of Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium, and Mercury.

One may inquire how harmful metals find their way into baby food and formula supply. Why didn’t these major corporations safeguard the purity of these harmful products affecting the health and wellness of our small children and America’s future generations?

Is it power and greed to capitalize on this market without further regard for consequence?

According to the October 2019 Investigation report by Research Director Jane Houlihan and National Director Charlotte Brody of “Healthy Babies Bright Futures,” the results of heavy metal toxicity in American baby food are astounding.

It’s also a proven fact that children with excessive amounts of metals that have crossed the brain barrier show lower IQ scores.

Until these major corporations are held accountable for their criminal acts against our children, the fatality rate will continue. Baby food lawsuits are currently being filed by parents of children diagnosed with autism and or severe ADHD who consumed high levels of toxic heavy metals in their food supply.

The 2020 congressional investigation report noted that the manufacturers internal testing proved high levels of toxic heavy metals in baby food belonging to the following major baby food corporations: Gerber; Beech-Nut, Plum Organics; Sprout Foods-Sprout Organic Food; Hain Celestial Group-Earth’s Best Organic; Nurture-Happy Family Organics and Happy Baby; Walmart-Parent’s Choice.
