More than 8 million ballots already cast across the country by Friday, according to the U.S. Elections Project. Controlling the US Senate and US House | All eyes are on the down-ballot and the momentum in the last few weeks of the election. The Republicans have 23 seats to defend in the US Senate, whereas the Democrats are defending just 12. Republicans need to pick up 17 seats to win the House.
