We once called them Banana Republics. The so-called Third World countries in Central and South America where they changed governments about as often as the wind changed direction. And the change in those governments wasn’t necessarily done by holding national elections and giving the people a voice in choosing their leaders.

More often than not the change in government was because one corrupt politician or political faction decided that they were more entitled to running the country than the one currently holding office. So they committed a coup d’etat, an often-times violent overthrow of the government.

Many a Latin American potentate found themselves lined up against a wall facing a firing squad as a result. It wasn’t normal practice to allow one’s predecessor to retire to his country home and live out the remainder of his life as an elder statesman.

There’s an argument to be made that the United States has become a Banana Republic in the last three plus years, with the Democrats and their allies in the news media using every tactic short of violence – so far – to try to force President Donald Trump out of office.

And to basically overthrow the will of the American people.

Since his upset victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton⏤the most dishonest, corrupt, and despicable politician in American history to ever run for the nation’s highest office, President Trump has been under an unrelenting attack by the news media and the Democrat Party.

First using corrupt officials within the leadership of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency. And with at the very least the acquiescence of the then President, Barack Hussein Obama, the Trump campaign was spied upon⏤yes spied upon, as much as Democrats and their news media allies want to deny⏤that was what happened.

Next came the Russia Collusion hoax resulting in the appointment of a Special Counsel, former FBI Director Robert Mueller. Unfortunately for the Democrats the trumped up charges of colluding with the Russians during the 2016 election was proven to be a false allegation.

There was no cooperation between then candidate and later President Trump, his campaign, and the Russian government led by Vladimir Putin. Poor MSNBC host Rachel Maddow nearly broke down into tears during her program when the Mueller Report didn’t produce the results that she was hoping for.

Since the Democrats had placed all of their hopes in the Mueller Report giving them the ammunition they needed to force the president to resign or be removed, they now had to find another avenue to try to get rid of the man they despised.

Though they had no evidence of any high crimes or misdemeanors, they chose to go ahead and impeach the president anyway. Hoping against hope that they could damage him enough politically that he could be defeated at the polls in November.

Once again their hopes were dashed as their little impeachment scam had no discernible effect on the president’s poll numbers. Afterwards it still looked like he was headed for reelection.

And considering the Basket of Clowns (something of a take-off of a famous Hillary Clinton quote during the 2016 campaign), who were running for the nomination for the Democrat Party, it looked even more likely that President Trump would win again in November.

Not ones to let a good crisis go to waste, once the Coronavirus struck the Democrats saw another opportunity to try to damage President Trump’s chances at reelection. If only the economy, which had been one of President Trump’s strongest points could be made to go into recession, they believed that this would finally be what they needed to bring an end to the Trump Presidency.

Unfortunately for the Democrats President Trump has shown outstanding leadership during this crisis, including taking immediate steps to try to prevent the spread from being worse and lessening the impact here in America.

Americans are not holding him responsible for the economic damage that the Coronavirus has caused. In fact, most Americans look at President Trump as being the best person to fix the economy and get America back to work once the Coronavirus threat has been defeated.

Democrats and their news media allies simply won’t give up their attempts to overthrow President Trump. You can bet money on it that once this current threat has passed and America is starting to recover⏤the Democrats will be looking for another way to discredit the president and try to bring him down. Or at least make him more vulnerable in the November election.

In Banana Republics what the Democrats have been doing would be viewed as nothing short of an attempted coup d’etat. Fortunately for the Democrats we don’t live in a Third World country so they won’t be lined up against a wall.

We can only hope that voters will hold them accountable this coming November and once and for all rid our nation of the corrupt politicians who have been doing everything they can to overthrow a sitting president, and undo the will of the people.
