It was a masterful address, and unlike his most recent predecessor⏤it was given by a President whose heart is really in it. For all of his bluster and sometimes maddening habits, President Trump genuinely loves this country and the people who live in it.
Record employment, particularly among Black and Hispanic Americans, the stock market reaching new heights, our military strengthened and our terrorist enemies taking dirt naps one after the other.

This year our president reported on his many stunning accomplishments during the past year, and there are many!

And then⏤just after President Trump finished delivering the speech, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped her copy of the speech in half with the cameras rolling in front of a worldwide audience. When the Speaker was questioned as to why she ripped up the speech, she replied, “Because it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives.”
An added benefit for this year’s speech was that we didn’t have to watch Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee in a bright red dress hovering over the entranceway into the Congressional Chamber, preening for the television cameras as she did for eight years under Barack Obama.
It happens once every year when the sitting president of the United States of America reports to the people of this country on the State of our Union. Always a one-sided and generally very positive view since the president who is in office, if he’s smart and actually is hoping for re-election, isn’t going to tell us all that “things really suck, I’ve done a really crappy job running the country”. We got plenty of that from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in the highly partisan democrat response after the president finished his address.
We also discovered that Socialist/Communist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was not in attendance, so we did not have to worry about any TV cameras panning the audience and settling on her pouting face. AOC was joined by Maxine Waters and a number of others who elected to also sit this one out. None were missed.
The president focused much of his address on the many successes that he has engineered in our economy, which is going like gangbusters with no signs of it slowing down. As much as the Democrats may wish that it would.

Watching the solemn faces among the Democrats seated in the chamber it would seem that they were actually saddened by the president’s economic news.

What is really sad is that the Democrats could not bring themselves to even acknowledge this extraordinary economic achievement as they sat there stone-faced and solemn.
As the president recited chapter and verse his goals that were reached and even surpassed in just three years, the Democrats just sat there quietly, unable to join in celebrating these successes because they certainly didn’t share in creating them. In fact, they fought against this president at every turn.  Yet he overcame every obstacle they placed before him and has come out even stronger than before.
President Trump covered a wide range of topics important to many Americans, making a promise to protect Social Security and continuing to protect pre-existing conditions in health care coverage, and his efforts to reduce the prescription drug prices for Americans. As well as challenging Congress not to saddle American citizens with providing free health care for illegal aliens.
He loudly promised to protect our borders, support law enforcement and our military, and insure that an American’s right to keep and bear arms will never be infringed upon as long as he is president.
President Trump stayed on message throughout, never once mentioning the attacks perpetrated against him and the American people by a fanatical group of Democrats determined to overturn the results of the 2016 election, and to prevent President Trump from even being placed on the 2020 election ballot.
President Trump is doing his level best to make America safe again, to make America prosperous again, to make America strong again, and to keep America great!
