During a speech in the British House of Commons in 1783, William Pitt (the Younger) said, Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.” Today we have numerous examples of people claiming that it is necessary that government takes some action. They claim government must protect us from our bad decisions, provide different goods and services for us, even tell us if and when we can exercise our rights. It seems more and more Americans are not only submitting these cries of necessity, but are calling for it themselves. I guess William Pitt was right about the plea for necessity, “It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” It appears that America is populated mostly by slaves. Look at your life. Do you submit to government because someone says it’s necessary? Then you are a slave.

The good news is, you don’t have to be a slave. All it takes to set you free is a little bit of education and some fortitude. Then you can rise up, stand as citizen and tell those in government what they are allowed to do, rather than kneel and submit to their wishes.
