The battle of red and blue – if the red states get whitewashed with blue politics… then are we done as a nation?

Remember, it’s not the red states leaving for blue politics; it’s the other way around; it’s blue politics leaving for greener pastures in red states.

This is the most pivotal time in American politics. It’s a moment of truth for the United States of America. A truth that will be defined in these next two elections. If Americans who are migrating to greener or red pastures bring their blue politics with them… then America will become too diluted into a passive sea of purple. You’ll need to follow the bouncing ball on this one as Malcolm delivers the out loud truth on America’s future.

America’s Mass Migration Intensifies As ‘Leftugees’ Flee Blue States And Counties For Red ⏤ Forbes Magazine, May ’21.

America is on the move like never before. Some would say at a tectonic level and for many the driver is as much political as it is economic. The top five states seeing a mass exodus are all Democrat-controlled. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Illinois lost a combined 4 million residents between 2010 and 2019. Conversely, a recent study by U-Haul reported that the top five states to see the greatest influx of new residents include the Republican-led states of Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio and Arizona.

Democrats’ most alarming problem – Yahoo Finance ⏤ Yahoo News, January ’22.

Democrats are likely to lose control of one or both houses of Congress in this year’s midterm elections. But they may face an even bigger danger: A steady flow of Americans out of traditional blue states on the coasts and in the upper Midwest into red states mostly in the South. New Census data analyzed by the American Enterprise Institute shows that eight of the 10 states losing the most residents from April 2020 through June 2021 have Democratic leadership, while nine of the 10 states gaining the most new residents have Republican governors.

Top 10 inbound vs. top 10 outbound US states in 2021 ⏤ American Enterprise Institute, December ’21.

How do they compare on a variety of economic, tax, business climate, and political measures?

AEI analyzed several economic indicators to validate trends that have been in place for some time, and may be intensifying. Taxes and living costs are higher in blue states enduring a net outflow of people, and lower in red states gaining new residents. Among the top 10 states losing residents, the combined state and local tax burden averages 9.2% of income. In the 10 states gaining the most residents, the state and local tax burden averages 7.7%, a full point and a half lower.
