Paul Engel

Author and speaker Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. That experience helps Paul explain difficult concepts in a way most people can understand. As one manager described, “Paul can take the most complex idea and explain it in a way my grandmother can understand.” Freely admitting that he “learned more about our Constitution from School House Rock (a Saturday morning cartoon) than in 12 years of school,” he says that anyone can be a constitutional scholar. Since 2014 I have been helping everyday Americans read and study the Constitution of their country and teaching the rising generation to be free. Using news and current events as a springboard, I explain the Constitution and encourage others to stand up and secure the blessings of liberty for themselves, their children, and the nation.

Washington Does What the Constitution Forbids

Washington Does What the Constitution Forbids

Have the American people become so enslaved to government largess that they will not stand for freedom of rights? Have we become so dependent on bribes from Washington, D.C. that we are willing to sell our children’s futures for a bowl of pottage? I will show you ten examples of those in Washington, D.C., from both parties who are criminally exercising…

A GRIMM Fairytale on Bathroom Etiquette and Safety

A GRIMM Fairytale on Bathroom Etiquette and Safety

While the school didn’t seem to care that a girl was using the boy’s bathroom, it appears a significant number of parents did. This goes to show one of the most overlooked problems with our nation’s fascination with treating facts as inconvenient truths when it comes to sex. The Board built single-stall restrooms as an “alternative” for students with “gender identity issues.” Grimm suffered from stigma, urinary tract infections from bathroom avoidance, and from suicidal thoughts…

Despotism and Misinformation Rule the Day

Despotism and Misinformation Rule the Day

While we’ve been distracted by political shows and swamped with propaganda, those in power have been diluting the meaning our Founding Fathers put into the Constitution. Unless the American people once again take up their role as masters of their governments and overthrow those who are perverting the Constitution, our only future will be…

The Tyrannical States of America

The Tyrannical States of America

We have the President and his press secretary confessing on national television that they are out to destroy your right to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and to be secure from unreasonable searches. And the American people do nothing. There will be no public liberty when those in government destroy freedom of speech…

If We Cannot Trust Our Elections, Are We Still a Republic?

If We Cannot Trust Our Elections, Are We Still a Republic?

This may go down as the most questionable election in American history. We have federal officials making baseless claims about voter integrity laws, state actors impending audits, and courts in the middle of everything. In the midst of all of this case, there’s one question that has yet to be answered. Can we trust the results of the election?

What are Your Property Rights?

What are Your Property Rights?

What does that mean in a practical sense? Today, I’ll be looking at several Supreme Court cases revolving around your right to property. I’ll also be looking at several events from the news regarding your property rights. Not just your land or your stuff, but your ability to control what you own. While some of the news is good and some bad…

Federal Supremacy or State Sovereignty

Federal Supremacy or State Sovereignty

Did the federal government create the states or the other way around? Does the federal government tell the states what they can do, or do the states order the federal government around? Once we understand the roles and relative powers between the states and the federal government, we can answer the question, are States Sovereign?

Where in the Constitution is Government Given the Authority to Regulate Property?

Where in the Constitution is Government Given the Authority to Regulate Property?

Once again we have a federal court offering the right conclusion for a very wrong reason. Like the bitter medicine hidden in candy, this case is not the vindication of property rights many seem to be touting. Instead, it’s another nail in the coffin of the rule of law. As one more court places itself above the law they have sworn to uphold, America ceases to be a republic and moves ever closer to an oligarchy…

The War of Words Put Liberty in Danger

The War of Words Put Liberty in Danger

Unlike the character Vizzini in Princess Bride, it’s not that the words don’t mean what these people think. I think it is much more dastardly than that. I believe these people are using words as weapons in an attempt to intimidate people into backing down and giving them what they want. However, like any other bully, the only way to disarm…

Government Infringing on Religious Liberty

Government Infringing on Religious Liberty

When I say “Religious Liberty,” what comes to mind? Is it the freedom to go to church, to wear a crucifix, yamaka, or hijab? Is it the ability to not work on your chosen holy day? What if I were to tell you that Religious Liberty is so much more. How about the Philadelphia foster care case along with both the Masterpiece Cake Shop and Arlene’s Flowers cases…

The Hand that Rocks the Cradle

The Hand that Rocks the Cradle

Are we teaching them to stand against those who would take our rights, or to submit to an all-powerful government? From schools segregating students based on their willingness to be subject to a government’s experimental vaccine, to the teaching that what really matters is a person’s race rather than their character, these are all irrevocable gifts. But are they?

Washington, D.C. and the Will of the People

Washington, D.C. and the Will of the People

If those in Washington, D.C. do not follow the will of the people, why do they still have a job? We hire people in government to be public servants, to serve the will of the people, and exercise the just powers we’ve consented to. Today, I’ll take some time to look at this study from The Trafalgar Group, then at some recent stories that show…

Taxation Without Consent

Taxation Without Consent

Today, Washington, D.C. is just as guilting of imposing taxes on us without our consent as King George was back in 1776. From direct taxes on things other than income to collecting taxes for purposes not authorized by the Constitution, taxation is a big deal in America. What is going on in Washington, D.C. is extortion and bribery…

The Government in Washington, D.C. has taken the place of King George

The Government in Washington, D.C. has taken the place of King George

How does the federal government today compare to the king we declared independence from back in 1776? We should recognize that the government in Washington, D.C., has taken the place of King George when it comes to the abuse of power. I decided to go through the Declaration one more time, updating it with the abuses and usurpations currently being exercised by the government of the United States…
