Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden will crash the U.S. economy if he wins on November 3rd and actually tries to carry out his foolish plans to end our fossil fuel use. Energy and environment expert Paul Driessen, senior policy advisor for the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, points out the magnitude of the problem:

“Fossil fuels still provide 80% of U.S. energy. In 2018, they generated 2.7 billion megawatt-hours of electricity. Another 2.7 billion MWh worth of natural gas-powered factories, emergency power systems, and furnaces, ovens, stoves and hot water heaters in restaurants and homes. Cars, trucks, buses, semi-trailers, tractors, bulldozers and other vehicles consumed the equivalent of another 2 billion MWh.

“That’s 7.4 billion megawatt-hours per year that the GND [Green New Deal] would have to replace! We’d also have to generate another 142 million MWh per year to charge batteries for each week of windless, cloudy days.”

Indeed, Biden’s climate change plan is a recipe for disaster for every single American. If our country followed his recommendations, it would bankrupt the nation for no environmental benefit.
Of course, none of this can happen in the real world because it would require literally millions of industrial wind turbines and billions of solar panels and backup storage batteries, millions of vehicle charging stations and tens of billions of tons of concrete, steel, copper, plastic, cobalt and rare earth elements.
The Cost of Biden’s Plans
Driessen tells us that, along the way, families, factories, hospitals, schools and business accustomed to paying 7 to 11 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for electricity will be paying 22 cents per kWh as they already do in our liberal green states and eventually 35 cents per kWh as they already have done in Germany where they committed to wind and solar nearly two decades ago. Gasoline and natural gas prices will also skyrocket until fully banished by the Biden administration. Biden should be asked:

  • How many businesses would survive?
  • How many jobs would disappear?
  • How many folks will have to choose between heating and eating?

Joe will never answer, of course, since it is a dystopian future he and his anti-capitalist friends want for us all. Writing with Driessen, Dr. David Wojick, an independent analyst working at the intersection of science, technology and policy, pointed out in his Aug 21 article, the Biden-Harris-AOC-Democrat Green New Deal”:

“would force every American to replace their gasoline and diesel cars and trucks with expensive short-haul electric vehicles; their gas furnaces and stoves with electric systems; their home, local and state electrical and transmission systems with expensive upgrades that can handle a totally electric economy. They’ll see their landscapes, coastlines and wildlife habitats blanketed with wind turbines, solar panels, transmission lines and warehouses filled with thousands of half-ton batteries. Virtually every component of this GND nation would be manufactured in China and other faraway places.

“The cost of this massive, total transformation of our energy and economic system would easily reach $10 trillion: $30,000 per person or $120,000 per family – on top of those skyrocketing electricity prices.“

Joe’s ‘Clean Energy’ Deception
Let’s look at a few examples of the insanity embedded in
The Biden Plan for a Clean Energy Revolution and Environmental Justice.”

Throughout Joe’s ten thousand-word climate change plan, he refers to what he calls “clean energy” no less than 49 times. He must be hoping his followers have not seen Michael Moore’s documentary PLANET OF THE HUMANS. This film shows that wind and solar projects are dirtier than fossil fuels were ever at their worst.

The film shows that the materials required to build these massive industrial wind turbines and thousands of solar collectors produce huge amounts of toxic waste.
Paul Driessen in an October 24 article at CFACT.org wonders if Biden’s wind and solar installations will require companies to go through extensive environmental reviews and demand compliance with the Endangered Species Act, the Bald & Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. After all, these machines are bird blenders. The American Bird Conservancy forecasts wind turbines will potentially kill at least one million birds per year by 2030 if 20% of the nation’s electricity is generated by wind power.
And apparently, birds do not get used to the turbines and so do not learn to avoid them. As reported in a study of avian collision mortalities by De Lucas, Janss, Whitfield and Ferrer published in the Journal of Applied Ecology, for the period 1993 – 2003 in Spain, “No indication of a change in mortality rates across the study period was found, suggesting that there were no long‐term temporal changes in birds’ reactions to the wind farms (e.g., habituation).”
And what about other laws that have been strictly enforced for decades for other industrial activities? It seems apparent that, under a Biden administration, they will claim that wind turbines, solar installations and associated power lines, fraudulently called renewable clean energy, are needed to save the planet from climate change and are thus exempted from these regulations. After all, it was in the last month of the Obama/Biden administration that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released a final rule which allowed wind-energy companies to apply for thirty-year “incidental-take” permits. This exempted the companies from prosecution under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act for killing eagles, up to a maximum number each year.
Jeff Gibbs, the award-winning producer/director of PLANET OF THE HUMANS dispels another of Biden’s myths that the energy storage problems of intermittent wind and solar power can be solved with batteries. Joe is apparently unconcerned that China controls most of the lithium and cobalt needed to produce batteries where both child and slave labor occur with little health, safety or environmental safeguards. We now know the Biden family is heavily invested in China.
Sacrificing Human Lives for Nothing
Equally egregious Joe tells us that he will engage in:

“Accelerating the deployment of electric vehicles…[and] develop rigorous new fuel economy standards aimed at ensuring 100% of new sales for light- and medium-duty vehicles will be electrified.”

The fact that there is no way we will have enough power plants to support a huge increase in electric cars doesn’t bother Biden, of course. Or the fact that, because average people cannot afford to shell out thousands of dollars more for a new electric car, many more Americans will keep their old vehicles beyond their safe life. Human lives mean nothing to politicians intent on pleasing their climate change allies.
And so Joe’s climate change and energy plan continues, mistake after mistake as we illustrated in our America Out Loud articles of the past two weeks (see here and here).
Flawed Foundation of Biden Plan
Underlying all of this remains the belief that carbon dioxide produced by human activity, especially our consumption of fossil fuels, is causing dangerous climate change. Anyone familiar with the Climate Change Reconsidered series of reports of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) knows this to be an unsupported hypothesis that belongs in the garbage, not as a foundation for our nation’s energy policies. After all, the NIPCC documents summarize thousands of studies from peer-reviewed scientific journals that either refute or cast serious doubt on the climate scare.
The Biden Plan for a Clean Energy Revolution and Environmental Justice” is nothing but a cynical election ploy to pander to the fantasies of ‘progressive’ ‘woke’ legislators, activists, news and social media, educators and ‘reformers.’ We must call him on it every single time Joe speaks at campaign events over the next many days.
