Everything is in extreme doses these days, including the chipping away of Americans’ freedoms. The American media is culprit number one in the decline of credible content and the lack of trustworthiness in the media landscape. Do reporters and talking heads say things that they really believe, or is it all an act to get you to believe what is essentially unbelievable? Do you think the media believes its own lies?
CNN’s Brian Stelter had Los Angeles Times columnist Jackie Calmes on his program to “declare that journalists need to stop covering the country’s two political parties equally because the modern Republicans don’t really care if government works well.” That’s quite a statement! Calmes has an interesting response:

Yes, this is the same Ilhan Omar, who was the most prominent advocate for defunding the police, and back in June 2020, said the following… “We need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department, the Minneapolis Police Department is rotten to the roots, and so when we dispatch elect we get rid of that cancer, and we allow for something beautiful to rise, and that reimagining allows us to figure out what Public Safety looks like.”
