The moment of truth has come for Governor Gavin Newsom and the state of California. It all hinges on residents getting out the vote in the special election to recall the failed democrat governor. A successful recall would automatically choose one of the 20 plus candidates, who are running, to replace him. The odds on favorite is radio host Larry Elder, a republican.

David Hernandez, who is very active in the community and has a finger on the pulse of what’s happening, discusses this historic recall-election with “After Dark.” He says these are exciting times in California, for a recall would not only trigger a new power balance in the state but in DC as well. For example, if a Republican is selected to replace Newsom in the recall, Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein, who has been rumored to be retiring soon, could see a Republican choose her replacement. This would flip the senate in DC and give Republicans the majority. This change would also give the GOP momentum going into the 2022 and 2024 elections.

While voting fraud has been on the minds of many in California, Hernandez encourages Californians to get out and vote. He believes too much is at stake to not vote and that voters should vote for individuals who will best represent their interests like school choice, jobs, and belief systems.

David Hernandez is the founder of the Los Angeles Hispanic Republican Club. The Club’s objective is to educate, motivate and mobilize Hispanics with shared values and objectives. It also provides them with information and tools to strengthen their political positions and defend them. Hernandez has also run for several political offices in California, including Lieutenant Governor and mayor of Los Angeles.
