Raped as a teenager and having survived a horrific and abusive marriage and then a divorce, yet she does not claim to be a victim. Cynthia Garrett, of Cynthia Garrett Ministries, is anything but that. She explained on “After Dark With Rob and Andrew” that given everything she has gone through in life, she “could be the poster child of every victim group for America.” Instead, the cancer survivor said she chose “victory” over all the things that happened to her in life.
She talks about her victory in her book “I Choose Victory: Moving from Victim to Victor.” She also added, there seems to be an identity crisis today in society. The author said people are looking for a purpose. She suggests they read the creator’s manual (Bible). It is there, she said, they will find the instructions on life. Garrett credits her faith in Christ as having gotten her through all she has encountered in life.
