In 2001, Stephen Spielberg directed the sci-fi movie A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). It is about a robot, played by Haley Joel Osment, who is adopted by humans. The robot goes on a journey full of mishaps to find out what it is like to be a human. The movie The Matrix (1999), with Keanu Reeves, is rather dark because machines are trying to take over the world and enslave humans. Then there is the Will Smith movie iRobot (2004), where robots again attempt to replace humans and rule the world.

While all of this seems unreal, art often imitates life giving us a window into the future of the possibilities of things that could be. A.I., aka Artificial Intelligence, is one of those things we see in the window, and it’s not that far away.

Entrepreneur and public speaker Clay Clark recently shared with the hosts of “After Dark” that AI is being pushed by our government and those with influence to replace humans. With this push comes massive unemployment. After all, who will need humans to do jobs that robots with AI will do? If people can’t work, they cannot produce an income to take care of themselves and family. This will result in the need for universal income.

Currently, Democrats and the Biden Administration have been in talks about providing universal income for certain segments of the population. The state of California has already started a monthly income test pilot for certain citizens in Sacramento and Oakland. There are a handful of other blue states looking to do the same thing.

Although it sounds attractive, Clark cautions individuals against accepting universal income, which would be administered by microchips inserted in the body. It is akin to the “mark of the beast,” which the Bible warns us against in Revelation 13:16-17

“He [the beast of the sea] also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark.”

Unfortunately, if the government successfully replaces human capital with robots accepting a chip to get money might be the alternative to starving and desolate.

Our country is seemingly moving toward a race to the bottom with this great reset of society. Those of us who are true believers in Christ must be steadfast and remember what St. Paul wrote in his letter to Timothy about the last days:

“There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
