By Dr. Jay Lehr and Terigi Ciccone
Followers of UFO theorists and aficionados are familiar with the phrase, “The truth is out there,” but Forbes says you will not find it here.
Forbes, the American Business Magazine, took down an article by MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER, titled; “On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologize for the Climate Scare” a few hours after posting it.
Who is Michael Shellenberger? He is the author of Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All (2020). Michael received his degree in Peace and Global Studies (PAGS) at Earlham College, majoring in energy, global warming, human development. Notable awards include Hero of the Environment, 2008, Green Book Award, 2008.
But the thought police at Forbes threw him and his article off the island for daring to voice his thoughts and knowledge on the climate change picture that politicians, popular media, and press are advancing.

The Daily Wire also reported about this incident on June 29, but for those of us who are too busy with our lives, families, work, chores, kids, dogs, … here is the cliff notes version:
Michael said,

“On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It is just not the end of the world. It is not even our most serious environmental problem. I may seem like a strange person to be saying all of this. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30.”

“But as an energy expert asked by Congress to provide objective expert testimony, and invited by the (United Nation’s) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to serve as Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report, I feel an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public.”

“Here are some facts few people know:

>  Humans are not causing a “sixth mass extinction.”

>  The Amazon is not “the lungs of the world.”

>  Climate change is not making natural disasters worse.

>  Fires have declined 25% around the world since 2003.

>  The amount of land we use for meat — humankind’s biggest use of land has declined by an area nearly as large as Alaska.

>  The build-up of wood fuel and more houses near forests, not climate change, explain why there are more, and more dangerous, fires in Australia and California.

>  Carbon emissions have been declining in rich nations including Britain, Germany and France since the mid-seventies.

>  Adapting to life below sea level made the Netherlands rich not poor.

>  We produce 25% more food than we need and food surpluses will continue to rise as the world gets hotter.

>  Habitat loss and the direct killing of wild animals are bigger threats to species than climate change.

>  Wood fuel is far worse for people and wildlife than fossil fuels.

>  Preventing future pandemics requires more not less “industrial” agriculture.

I know that the above facts will sound like “climate denialism” to many people. But that just shows the power of climate alarmism.”
Thank you, Michael, for your openness, honesty, and love of humanity.
Throughout history, there have been vital individuals who saw the light and found the courage after preaching Apocalypse for years and decades. Most recently, in the environmental area, we thank Michael Moore. He skewered the idea that wind and solar power were both environmentally friendly and economically efficient in his brilliant movie PLANET FOR THE HUMANS. Decades earlier, Greenpeace founder Patrick Moore recognized that his Green Peace organization had turned from saving Harp Seals and Whales to be a strident dangerous and destructive force, working to bring socialism to the world even at the expense of the environment.
Based on the uproar that Dr. Shellenberger’s book, Apocalypse Never has caused among the alarmist community, his seeing the light of environmental radicalism may well be the best stroke for scientific realism yet. So far, he is weathering the attacks from the left that so many of us have experienced for years. Let’s hope he continues to do so, and all of us must support him whenever and wherever we can.
