For too long, Democrats have taken Black and Hispanic voters for granted. Every election year, the party big cats have shown up in these communities peddling promises that are not kept, all the while assuming they would get their votes. That changed in 2020 when conservatives saw an increase in support from Black and Hispanic voters. This was not only a wake-up call to Democrats but a call for Republicans to invest more time and energy in those communities.

Jesse Holguin and David Hernandez, two Hispanic men who witnessed the increase in support for conservatives in their respective communities, join After Dark With Rob and Andrew” to share their stories. The community leaders explained that conservatives share the same value systems as Hispanics of God, family, and hard work. They also said there are more conservatives within the community than liberals. In 2020, they noted that the conservative Hispanic vote increased from 16 to 27 percent. That in itself, they said, should get the attention of Republicans to do more to attract Hispanic voters and candidates to run for office.

Jesse Holguin

Jesse Holguin is a former gang member who turned his life around following a near-death experience. He is now a Christian who fights for justice and counsels troubled youths and gang members about the dangers of the streets. Holguin also sees it as his mission to lead fellow Latinos and others away from the left and back towards their faith through Lexit, a nonprofit he founded in 2018. He describes the organization as being a movement dedicated to lifting the minority community through education, positive efforts, and exposing the truth of misinformation and false narratives told by the Left.
