I have heard it said that Noah was the original conspiracy theorist. He listened to God, and he prepared accordingly. Imagine Noah in today’s time. He would, without a doubt, be labeled a Conspiracy Theorist and potentially lose friends and family, as many of us have.
The term Conspiracy Theorist was coined by the CIA and our government in response to people who questioned the “official” reports published surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy. The term has since become the mainstream attack on anyone who raises questions about a large-scale narrative. It has been ever-present over the past three years surrounding Covid despite many of these so-called “theories” becoming a reality after a few short months.
There are more “conspiracy theories” than I can count, but there are many that I have found to be quite fascinating. I am always asking questions and welcome dialogue from an alternate perspective, but I rarely find someone willing to engage in this dialogue. No matter the topic, if it carries the label of “conspiracy,” people tend to shy away from the subject.
As a follower of Jesus, I have been taught to recognize the works of an invisible enemy. I have applied this when I look at events, systems, and things of this world. I work to use discernment but also not lean on my own understanding alone.
Theories that pique my interest range from the shape of the Earth to the recent Covid vaccine. Both of these have been labeled, and the powers that be seem to work diligently to debunk these, as well as dozens of others. These efforts make me question the motives, ultimately leading me to dig deeper.
