In the 2006 film entitled “Idiocracy,” a soldier is in a top-secret hibernation program and ends up waking up in a future run by idiots. The premise was that, since the “smart people” spent their time working rather than having babies, the unintelligent masses ended up taking over society and government. But what would happen in these so-called “smart people” actually did control the world? I think rather than in idiocracy; we would have a corruptocricy. A nation, and even a world, run by corrupt bureaucrats.
What would lead me to such a dystopian view of a future run by an elite intellectual class? Just take a look at Washington, D.C., and I think you’ll agree that a corruptocricy is not such a far-fetched idea after all.
