Do lockdowns help? The most recent study from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), analyzing data from 44 countries and all 50 states, found that not only have these restrictions not saved lives, and significantly exacerbated the destruction of the working class — but have resulted in an increase of excess mortality. Yes, they have killed more people than saved.

Among the findings for the NBER study (cited from Don Via): In every region the study observed, it found that the utilization of stay-at-home mandates resulted in either no change or increases in excess deaths.

In every US state, the study found either “no change in excess deaths, or in many US states, spikes in excess deaths following the implementation of shelter-in-place policies.”

Countries and states that had longer duration stay-at-home mandates were found to have had higher excess deaths. Countries or states that implemented stay-at-home mandates earlier did not have lower excess deaths than countries and states that were slower to put restrictions in place. States did not see decreases in excess deaths until 20 weeks after the lockdown policies were brought into effect. An exception was found in the countries of Australia, Malta, and New Zealand, and the island of Hawaii, where the shelter-in-place orders that were issued showed a slight decrease in excess deaths.

Who needs opioid deaths when we have lockdowns?

Drug use and subsequent overdose deaths are increasing at an alarming rate. For example, data released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) showed that 37 people were poisoned by fentanyl in 2016. There were 57 deaths in 2017, 134 deaths in 2018, and 165 deaths in 2019… and then in 2020, fentanyl killed 432 people.

In fact, in 2020, overdose deaths hit the highest number ever recorded, rising by almost 30% per the CDC. Fauci must be proud of his handiwork. Or not. This corroborated by CDC released data on drug overdose deaths, released July 14, 2021, which found the total for 2020 soared 30% to a record 93,331 in the virus pandemic year of 2020, compared to the prior year. About 93,331 Americans died from drug overdoses last year, per the CDC data, compared with 72,000 from 2019, the previous record high, the CDC reports. Deaths by suicide are on the rise both nationally and internationally. “That is a stunning number even for those of us who have tracked this issue,” Brendan Saloner, associate professor of health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told The Wall Street Journal. “Our public health tools have not kept pace with the urgency of the crisis.”

The CDC also reported in April 2021 that the figures show that at least 87,000 people died from overdoses from October 2019 to September 2020. This amounts to a 29 percent increase from the same period in the previous year.

In Sept. 2021, according to FBI reports (WSJ), the data shows the murder rate rising to large heights in the summer of 2020 and then remaining above normal the rest of the year. The jump is the biggest since this data started being collected like this in the 1960s (Washington Examiner). And I personally watched former Secretary of Education Bill Bennet estimate that for every 1% rise in unemployment, there were 10,000 suicides.

Note that South Dakota, which had NO lockdown, had a reduction in deaths. Another report in the activist post in July 2020 noted the CDC itself had admitted 93.331 drug overdose deaths in 2020, a record high, a 30% increase in the 2019 total of 72,151. Remember that victims of drug overdoses generally skew younger; the largest age group of opioid overdoses, for example, is people aged 25-34 (yet again, where is hypocrite Pelosi’s “it’s for the children” gambit when we need it?) Here at the stats from the CDC on overdose deaths: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/drug-overdose-data.htm. See it before it is deleted as “math is racist” types get at it.

But I thought Nancy said, “It was for the children?”

More heartbreaking still, what is now being referred to as an epidemic of child suicide as the self-inflicted deaths of children are now on the rise. In fact, in Ireland, the UK Daily Mail wrote making children wear masks is “child abuse” and can worsen existing health issues, stunt language skills, and cause psychological harm. And researchers, in a pre-print study out of Brown University, Aug. 2021, provide “suggestive” — and alarming — evidence that NPIs (another euphemism for lockdowns, non-pharmaceutical interventions) has “fundamentally altered the child health landscape” and are “significantly and negatively affecting infant and child development.” Researchers reported children born during the pandemic are displaying significantly lower cognitive performance (verbal, motor, and overall) compared to children born pre-pandemic, and that early-stage IQ testing of pandemic babies produced an average score of around 78, versus a mean IQ score that, over the past decade, hovered around 100. The study’s lead author characterized the findings as “not subtle by any stretch.” But otherwise, these lockdowns are just dandy.

As well as causing a noticeable increase in both domestic violence and child abuse. Including sexual assault, the world over, as human rights groups have warned that human trafficking has surged during lockdowns. All the while, the world’s poor and working-class are decimated as wealthy elitists and political predators capitalize upon the largest transfer of wealth and power in human history.

But hey! As long as we are killing kids with fake lockdowns, why not double down and kill them with vaccines as well. Y’know… to protect them from something where they have a 0003% chance of dying. Dr. Peter McCullough cited elsewhere, addresses this issue of kinds not needing vaccines here on the Laura Ingraham show. Now, since the kids have a chance of dying from Covid approaching zero (and this actual figure of 0.003 does not address kids with co-morbidities, very low vitamin D, etc.), should we not also be creating a vaccine to protect the kids from potential meteor strikes? But of course, the answer seems to be, as per this Canadian doctor, when you question the narrative – kind of as Ignaz Semmelweis did, when he told his doctors to all wash their hands before operations in the 1800s, and was promptly drummed out of the medical world – you end up fired: Exhibit A: Dr. Francis Christian, Clinical Professor of General Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan and a practicing surgeon in Saskatoon, per this story, was called into a meeting, suspended from all teaching responsibilities effective immediately, and fired from his position with the University of Saskatchewan as of September 2021. Nope… rational, logical discussions about the scientific merits of the shot were not wanted. But you knew that already. And here is a recording of Dr. Christian’s meeting between Dr. Christian and Dr. Preston Smith, the Dean of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, Dr. Susan Shaw, the Chief Medical Officer of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and Dr. Brian Ulmer, Head of the Department of Surgery at the Saskatchewan College of Medicine. Listen for yourself and judge the intellectual honesty – or not – of the participants.

No longer your “shrimp on the barbie” Australia, is it?

And if that wasn’t absurd enough, listen to Sky News Australia and their report on one of the premiers of one of their states, Daniel Andrews, who said – his words, ipsissima verba, not mine – “There will be no removal of masks to consume alcohol outdoors, you will no longer be able to remove your mask to drink a cocktail at a pop-up beer garden on a footpath as part of a pub crawl…” Check out the source yourself here:  No word yet from Premier Andrews if we can drop our drawers to use the loo or not. Perhaps next, just like drinking, we will have to “go potty” through our clothes? But you can tell who has bought into all this stupidity, I guess, by the smell that lingers on them when they enter a room.

Meanwhile, returning to child suicides, Oakland, California, hospitals saw a 66 percent increase in teenagers screening positive for suicidal ideation between March and October of 2020. And over in the UK, Dr. David Greenhorn, out of England’s Bradford Royal Infirmary, wrote an article entitled Child Suicide is Becoming an ‘International Epidemic’ Amid Restricted Pandemic Life, which is here. Christian Post has an article here on the same subject. Is it any wonder that Harvard Researchers recently reported that Nearly Half of Young Adults Showing Signs of Depression Amid Pandemic; see the 50 state survey PDF by Harvard, Rutgers, Northwestern and Northeastern Universities here. Even the CDC reported June 2021 that suicide attempts spiked during the pandemic among kids aged 12 to 17, with summer 2020 jumping by nearly 25% compared to summer 2019, and even worse in winter 2020: ER visits for suicide attempts rose almost 40% compared to winter 2019. Girls in this age group were affected the most severely, with February through March 2020 ER admissions for suicide attempts jump by over 50% compared to the same time period just one year earlier.

A study reported by Capt. Bunn, April 14, 2021, discussed a Harvard study by Katie A McLaughlin that found children “responded negatively to neutral faces just as abused children do.” And on April 20, Gov. Whitmer of Michigan required 2 – 4-year-olds to be masked. This is an age when kids need to learn to read, model, and communicate facial expressions, which is now all being destroyed. Further reading on this herehere, and a  Michigan State University story here, or here. Might we ask if masked parents and family members may be as just as deleterious to children’s mental health as physical abuse? See “Corporal Punishment and Elevated Neural Response to Threat in Children.Child Development, 2021; DOI: 10.1111/cdev.13565.

Charles Eisenstein even goes so far as to suggest on substack that this might be some kind of distorted scapegoating form of “child sacrifice.” His article is a bit more nuanced than that, but if you are interested in pursuing this train of thought, start here.

Then there are adults – who, ipso facto, impact the kids they care for as well. Tara N. Richards and Justin Nix wrote in Natural Blaze that, “Domestic violence rose globally in 2020—so much so that doctors have called it “a pandemic within a pandemic.” And the National Commission on COVID-19 and Criminal Justice, a team of national experts tasked with assessing the impact of COVID-19 on the justice system, recently estimated that in the United States, domestic violence incidents increased 8.1% on average following stay-at-home orders.

Worldwide, the United Nations estimates there was a 20% increase in domestic violence incidents across its 193 member states during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns. Of course, women who may already be struggling to pay bills may now be forced to stay with abusers in situations where they are in lower-paying jobs and can’t afford to move out.

But of course, just like with all of Bill Clinton’s or even Joe and Hunter Bidens’ abuse, nary a word from the social justice or feminists on this… once again.
