Imagine if the National Basketball Association (NBA) game rules continually and unpredictably changed to favor the home team. For example, the home team’s free throws could be worth two points, while the visiting team’s free throws would remain at one. However, on occasion, at the sole discretion of the home team, their free throws would sometimes be worth three points, while the guests’ would still be one. Could the NBA successfully operate in this haphazard and biased way?

Of course not. Without a consistent set of rules applied in a predictable and consistent fair way, the result would be chaos, the public would quickly lose interest, and the business would fail.

Yet that is how many Democrats govern when they are in power. Rather than follow the rules under which the federal government is supposed to operate as clearly laid out in the Constitution, which is the law of the land, they claim the authorities and responsibilities they simply do not have. And, in cases like education or abortion, when power is not granted to the feds by the Constitution, it devolves to the states (or the people). Specifically, the 10th Amendment states:

“[t]he powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

To encourage the public to accept their ignoring the Constitution, the Democrats paint constitutionalists as extreme right-wingers to be shunned. But the Constitution should not be considered either right wing or left wing. It should be viewed as the center point, a baseline against which all government actions should be gauged.

To discuss how this distortion of the fundamentals of the Republic threatens its very existence and how Americans must fight back, my guest this week is American constitutionalist Steven E. Maikoski. Based in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Maikoski is the author of the book, “The Real Constitution and its real enemies – How the Right vs. Left dialog is a weapon being used to destroy our Republic. How to fight it.

Maikoski was born at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. His father was in the US Air Force, so he moved a lot, for example, spending four years in the Canal Zone in Panama. Maikoski later enlisted in the air force and spent almost four years in Western Germany, where he followed in Dr. Jay Lehr’s footsteps and undertook skydiving with a passion.

After working with political influence groups for years, such as the US Chamber of Commerce, Maikoski became interested in what the US government should be doing, not what everybody was trying to make it do. The more he studied, the more he was impressed with the Constitution and the work that went into its design and implementation.

Maikoski tells us that it is crucially important that the public be educated on what the Constitution says regarding the division of powers. To learn what you need to know to help Maikoski educate his fellow citizens, tune in to this week’s episode!
