The world’s largest governments are poised to implement digital currencies, which will choke out cash money unless citizens protect their actual cash.
Digital money. No more folding money or coins. Instant payments, anywhere in the world. It sounds like science fiction, but much of it is already envisioned and designed with systems patented and developed.
Although the conveniences are seductive (no more wallet, no more handling money, no more trips to the bank, and so on), the potential for abuse is enormous. Of course, to begin with, there are security issues. We are talking about cyberspace here, and we all know there is a constant arms race between hackers and digital security forces. Imagine your money being vulnerable to hacking?
But there is a greater and more immediate threat. Once all money is digitized, it is under central control. We see this already occurring in China, which is implementing digital currency. So this is no longer science fiction.
Indeed President Biden issued an executive order on March 9, 2022, to proceed toward activating a US digital currency even though US Congress has not authorized such a move.
