Watching Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi during her press conference yesterday I couldn’t help but think that from a political standpoint it would be a smart move by Republicans to simply try to insure that she gets in front of TV cameras as often as possible between now and the 2020 elections. She may refer to herself as a “master legislator”, but the reality is that she’s dumber than a syringe full of Botox.
The Speaker (those words still stick in my throat when referring to Pelosi), was discussing options Congress may have should President Trump declare a national emergency to complete his promise to build a barrier or wall along the country’s Southwest Border to stem the tide of illegal aliens entering the United States.
One of the ‘options’ Pelosi mentioned was the possibility of a future Democrat president declaring a national emergency over something that Republicans might not like, say gun violence perhaps. Nothing less than a very unsubtle threat against the United States Constitution’s Second Amendment, which should raise the eyebrows of every law abiding gun owner in America.
Democrats have been determined to disarm Americans for decades now, believing that guns are the cause of gun violence in this country. The reality is that Democrats themselves through the ruinous social policies they have championed for decades are the cause of much of the gun violence in this country. Not to mention the fact that armed citizens also prevent Democrats from turning this country into the socialist hell-hole they would like to see America become.
All one has to do is take a look at the level of gun violence in the United States prior to all of the liberal policies implemented by Democrats when they have held power in our government, and then look at the gun violence statistics after social programs created and supported by Democrats have been in put in place. Going all the way back to the ‘Great Society’ programs of the administration of President Lyndon Johnson, which virtually destroyed the black family and created havoc in the black community by enslaving generations to dependence on welfare programs and other government largesse, as well as the undermining of traditional morality and ethics in America. All supported and promoted by Democrats and their liberal supporters.
My question for Speaker Pelosi, is just what would she do about gun violence using a ‘National Emergency Declaration”? Would she declare it only for large metropolitan areas? Since if one removed cities like Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, Atlanta, and St. Louis from the annual gun violence statistics, the United States would be ranked near the very bottom of all the nations in the world as far as gun violence.
Will many of Pelosi’s minority constituency in America’s inner cities stand for being separated and excluded from gun ownership?
How about the unfortunate members of America’s black community who live in those dangerous inner city communities and are regularly victimized by the criminals who prey upon the defenseless?
Are they going to be denied the ability to protect themselves from the predators plaguing some of their neighborhoods?
Most Americans who own firearms are law abiding, responsible gun owners who contribute little to the problem of gun violence in America. They abide by the existing gun laws, and they actually also serve as something of a ‘force multiplier’ for law enforcement. The Democrats and the news media rarely mention the countless times that an armed civilian has stepped in to stop or prevent a crime, including preventing or limiting a potential mass shooting.
So Nancy if you want to make subtle threats against someone you might want to look at another target other than legal gun owners for your bullying. Responsible American supporters of the Second Amendment simply will not bow to Democrat Party intimidation. And your threats Nancy don’t concern us. Considering your senility you’ll likely have forgotten what you said by tomorrow anyway. Image: M. Scott Mahaskey/Politico
