Viewpoint This Sunday – Executive Privilege is Out. White Privilege is In.
The Kyle Rittenhouse trial has become a national spectacle. An even bigger spectacle is the media sources that are covering the play-by-play. Once again, claims of racism, white privilege, and right-wing extremism accompany a trial that is being media-blitzed around the world. Moira Donegan of The Guardian says, “When conservative men like Rittenhouse and Brett Kavanaugh express their feelings, it is an act of thwarted entitlement – or a threat. It was a performance meant to make him seem helpless and childlike, and to convince the jury in his homicide trial that there was a reasonable possibility that he was in fear for his life when he shot the three men. But to many, the emotion of Rittenhouse’s testimony seemed to stem not from his memories of the incident, but from the indignant entitlement of a white man thwarted in the enforcement of his own privilege.” US NEWS and World Report say… “While Rittenhouse is white, as were those he shot, the case has stirred racially fraught debate over vigilantism, the right to bear arms, and the unrest that erupted around the U.S. that summer over police violence against Black people.”
A trial that aspired to answer this question: A patriot taking a stand against lawlessness or a vigilante gone wild?…is now being ridiculed with racist remarks and right-wing extremist politics that harkens back to the Kavanaugh chronicles.
While we’re on the topic of executive privilege, a judge in Washington, D.C., has denied former President Trump’s request to withhold relevant documents from the January 6th investigators⏤as is routine for former presidents’ to exercise their executive privilege. Judge Chutkan said in the ruling. “But Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President. He retains the right to assert that his records are privileged, but the incumbent President ‘is not constitutionally obliged to honor’ that assertion.” Will the committee overplay its hand in pursuit of a predetermined outcome?
Supply-chain bottlenecks are causing record shortages of everyday products from household goods, electronics, cars, food, and raw materials. “At this point, shortages are guaranteed,” Jonathan Gold, vice president of supply chain policy at the National Retail Federation, said. “… We’ve been warning consumers to manage their expectations for the holiday shopping season for months now. The fact of the matter is the supply chain is stretched to its limit from end-to-end.” Experts predict the disruptions may continue well into 2023. Undoubtedly, America has become too reliant on outsourcing our manufacturing to China, but a series of bad policy decisions are causing the bottleneck in the supply chain.

The Threat that is China | In recent news reports, we learned that China had launched a hypersonic missile test in August. And as is typical with the CCP, they denied these reports and suggested that it was just a routine spacecraft. Nothing to see here! See this excerpt from Reuters in April 2020; China is becoming increasingly assertive in the region as the coronavirus crisis eases on the mainland while raging elsewhere in the world, with a crackdown in Hong Kong and saber-rattling around Taiwan and in the South China Sea.
Since that report, China has continued with its aggression in Hong Kong, their expansion in the South China Seas; and in early October, Chinese fighter aircraft carried out more than 150 sorties over Taiwan’s airspace. “The historical task of the complete reunification of the motherland must be fulfilled, and will definitely be fulfilled,” Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a statement after its aggression toward Taiwan.
“The rise of China is like something we’ve never seen before,” says General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. “We’re witnessing ,” Milley says when speaking about China’s recent military advances.
And then there’s the release of Coronavirus onto the world stage while closing down their own markets internally, but infecting the world with this extraordinary bioweapon. In ‘The Reckoning,’ author Wallace Garneau speaks of China’s global aspirations… “Xi Jinping did not release Covid-19 to help the global elite, and Xi Jinping has absolutely no interest in the world view of the global elite. Xi Jinping, rather, is going along only because the goals of the global elite (weakening the Western World) currently align with the goals of Xi Jinping – which is to supplant the United States as the dominant power in the world. At some point, China is going to decide that we have weakened ourselves enough to be struck, and when that happens, China will hit us hard.”
Dr. Li-Meng Yan is an independent virologist and whistleblower who is calling out the CCP to let everyone know the truth about COVID-19. She had accused Beijing of a massive coverup with the release of Coronavirus.
