We have all heard of people with a calling on their life, but have you heard of a dog with a blessed calling on his life? Well, Messo, a Golden Retriever, has a calling to do “great things.”
Messo and his owner Jill Stewart are the guests on “After Dark With Rob and Andrew.” The two join the hosts to talk about China Rescue Dogs, a non-profit organization that rescues dogs from the Chinese dog meat market. Stewart is the president of the organization founded in 2019. Messo, who is the company’s mascot, was adopted after he was found wandering the streets of Northern China and taken in by Monks. Before the adoption, Stewart said, the Monks had blessed him to do “great things.”
Messo’s blessed calling and the non-profit have saved the lives of 602 dogs (and counting). While Stewart did most of the talking on the show, Messo can be heard in the background panting as though to confirm what was being said.
Stewart said had she not adopted Retriever, he would have been dead.
Jill Stewart founded China Rescue Dogs in July 2019. According to the website, the mission of China Rescue Dogs is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs from the meat trade in China and provide them with loving homes in the U.S. and Canada. China Rescue Dogs has been featured in several publications and TV shows.
