Seak Smith’s journey from growing up in the hood of LA to becoming a successful and inspiring activist is nothing short of extraordinary. Her father escaped communism, and her upbringing in the projects of LA and graduate of Crenshaw High School instilled in her a deep commitment to social justice and empowerment.
Seak’s passion for activism began at a young age, as she saw firsthand the struggles and injustices that her community faced. Her father’s escape from communism in Cambodia played a significant role in shaping her worldview. Seak learned early on the importance of standing up for one’s beliefs and fighting against oppression. She was determined to live out the American dream with a servant’s heart.
It was this drive that led her to create the MOM and DAD Army, a survivor-led organization with a mission to activate and unite millions of Mama Bears and their allies in the battle to stop the war on children and their innocence. MOM Army’s vision is a world where children feel safe, loved, protected, and honored, Seak Smith works to empower individuals and unite communities to activate their collective voices.
