The Democrats have been salivating over their victory win in Georgia having won both Senate and House seats during the November 2020 election. In fact, they have already started to say the state could possibly turn purple or even blue in 2022 and 2024. This couldn’t be any further from the truth says Mike Collins a lifelong Georgia resident.
Collins, a staunch Christian, and Republican tells “After Dark With Rob and Andrew” that “Georgia is not purple. It’s not blue. It’s red. It’s solid red” and it’s not changing any time soon. With his southern drawl intact, he speaks passionately about his Christian faith, the United States, and the Georgia he loves. He said one of the reasons he is running for senate is to make certain the America First agenda does not go away.
The Georgia candidate said he had initially thought he would just fundraise and support conservative candidates. That changed after hearing a message at church about having an opportunity to make a difference in the world. He then decided to jump in the race with his “solid conservative Christian values and business sense.” He said he would be more than other candidates, who are only looking for committees to serve on and make a career on the Hill. He said he would go to the Hill to work for the people and once his time is up go home. This approach he said others on the Hill, who have been there far too long should, should adopt
Mike Collins is a native of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. He is the owner of Collings Trucking Company, a family business. He married his high school sweetheart, Leigh Ann. They have three children and three grandchildren and reside in Jackson, Ga. They are actively involved in their community. They attend Rocksprings Church.
