There is no shortage of flawed government policies today. Just look at gas and food prices and the educational meltdown in schools. As of May 2021, only about one-quarter of Americans said they could trust the government in Washington to do what was right. Waivers, favors, off-the-cuff rule changes, and the bungled Covid response validate that distrust. No matter how much we rely on government services, deep down in our hearts, we know we need an escape hatch from government incompetence or outright perfidy.
Bureaucratic incompetence and cronyism are not the only reasons we should be wary of the government. On far too many occasions, our government placed the value of its citizens far below their more significant agendas and ignored the consequences of its actions on the health of its citizens. From military operations to public health, our government has performed less than admirably.
Writer and philosopher George Santayana cautioned, “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” This episode provides some history that under no circumstance do we want to repeat. This history also might prod us to think about why we would not want government intervention in our medical care.

Thank you Dr. Singleton for standing up for the common man, with your knowledge! If we Don’t stand up for some things, we will lay down for everything, and this is what they want!
Sending you high respect Dr. Singleton. Back in the 1970’s I read about the subway experiments and other experiments on unwitting victims in FREEDOM magazine. My mind thought something like “man is civilized, they can’t possibly be continuing these experiments.”
