Ukraine has been given nearly $20 billion of US taxpayer money, and this is during a time the United States is facing an economic crisis that looks like a recession. The Biden Administration has been telling the American public that we are trying to aid the country in a war against a tyrant Russia. Unfortunately, this war has been going on for almost a year, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight to the war or the US sending money to Ukraine.

Heather Robinson of the New York Post, joins the hosts of “After Dark” to discuss money being given to Ukraine. Robinson said the US should not be sending money to Ukraine without accountability. She said the US should be holding the president of the country, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accountable for all the money they are receiving. Because the war between Ukraine and Russia seems to be endless, at some point, she said the US and other countries should get the two countries to come together and declare a cease-fire and work toward peace.

Heather Robinson is a New York-based freelance journalist who regularly contributes to The New York Post, Jewish News Syndicate, the US Spectator, and other publications. She has appeared as a pundit on “CNN with Anderson Cooper” and Fox News’s “Geraldo At Large,” discussing human rights, popular culture, and the Mideast. She has also worked as a college writing instructor at New York University and Touro College in Brooklyn.

I totally agree. And while we’re at it, why don’t we absolutely do the same for our Department of Defense!

We constantly give the Pentagon more than they ask for (or more than is usually in a President’s proposed budget) and have little record of how the monies are spent. The first time EVER they were audited was 2018, and they have failed every audit since then. For example, for fiscal year 2021, auditors were unable to account for a whopping 61% of the Pentagon’s $3.5 TRILLION in assets — that is a tremendous failure in holding our own defense department accountable. (And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. They recently re-discovered a warehouse they’d lost track of, filled with parts for a plane that hasn’t been in development for years.) — stats from Project On Government Oversight (POGO), a nonpartisan independent watchdog that investigates and exposes waste, corruption, abuse of power, and when the government fails to serve the public or silences those who report wrongdoing.
