Noah Webster defines an oligarchy as “A form of government in which the supreme power is placed in a few hands; a species of the aristocracy.” Can you think of a better definition for the judicial branches in America today? How did America morph from a republic to an oligarchy? How did the courts, especially the federal courts, obtain the power to rule over the American people? If we look at a few recent lawsuits, and apply a little bit of history, I believe we’ll find that it was We the People who have changed our right to petition the government for a redress of grievances into a dependency on them to do so. The good news is, that means we can once again take up the mantle of free citizens, shrug off our judicial overlords, and once again be the masters of our right to petition rather than its subjects.
