In this episode of Energetic Health Radio, Dr. H is joined by special guests Henry Ealy, Professor of American History, Dr. Christina Parks, Dr. Avery Jackson, and the Great Kevin Jenkins to discuss the parallels between slavery and the slavery 2.0 being rolled out today by fascist billionaires hellbent on death and destruction.
This is an emotionally charged topic that will deal with the elephants in the room. Those uncomfortable truths that are long overdue to discuss. Should white people today feel one iota of guilt for the sins of people they never knew and never met? Did black people sell black people into slavery? Which single law devastated our great nation for hundreds of years? What made a person a slave back then, and how is it exactly like what makes a person a slave today?

You now have a window into what it often feels like to be black in America…discriminated against in your own home and for no reason. Our history has led us to today; much of it is good and worth celebrating, and much of it horrific, worth learning from, not erasing. Yes, that’s who our ancestors were, but we can make a better choice.
We can choose to learn from our history, so we don’t repeat the worst mistake ever made in our country…so we don’t willingly place our children back into slavery 2.0, even if it has a different name courtesy of people who believe in global murder for profit schemes.

Excellent podcast. Excellent guests. I really amplified my knowledge of slavery in the USA. I had never heard about the Virginia law enacted in 1662 that absolved white males from their paternity when their children were birthed from a black slave woman.
As you Dr. Ealy and your distinguished guests have all said, slavery is in the minds. People are enslaved by their credence, by their beliefs by their epigenetic karma, by the instilled normality of abnormal society culture. I’m reading the book by Gabor Maté with Daniel Maté: The Myth of Normal. Trauma, Illness & Healing in a Toxic Culture. Magnificent book. As I read the book, I transcribe phrases that I consider enlightening and send them to many people either via WhatsApp or E.-mail. As has been my experience when I try to raise consciousness in people, there is no response, just like watering a desert. People live in their comfort zones, in their apparent golden safe jails and are in a state of denial. Nonetheless I continue my purpose of raising consciousness and opening minds and, 4as my brother insisted with me for many years, even in our last telephone conversation -he lived in Colombia and I in Switzerland, four hours before his death: “Jaime you are a shepherd and shepherds seed but do not harvest. The other will harvest when it is their time and in the modality that best suits them.” I learned the hard way not to expect gratitud, not for me, but because gratitud is important for opening our hearts. I continue to do my part and trust the universe is on my side and has my back. I’m grateful for the conversation you had and hope to listen to more. I always love Kevin Jenkins; he just inspires me not only for what he says but the way he says it.
