How the GOP Can Break the Democrat Stronghold Districts

The mid-term elections are months away, and it seems Republicans stand a good chance of taking both Houses, but the hosts of “After Dark” are cautiously optimistic. Fortunately, they don’t see the left as having a tightly run ship to win in 2022, but they recognize woke liberals will lie and cheat to win. Still, there is hope for Republicans if they would only step out of their comfort zone and start supporting up-and-coming candidates in districts that Democrats have a stronghold in.

Joining the hosts to discuss the midterm elections and what the GOP needs to do to break the Democrat stronghold is Lavern Spicer, Florida’s 24th District Congressional candidate. She is looking to unseat Frederica Smith Wilson. Spicer says Wilson, like most Democrats, has done nothing for the district she is in besides making empty promises. Spicer believes she and other candidates running in 2022 could best many of the Democrats running if the GOP supported them more. She said running in a predominately blue area can be challenging, but she is not giving up as she wants to work for the people and is a fighter. Please find out more about her candidacy on a previous talk.

Lavern Spicer was born and raised in Rocky Mount, N.C. After graduating from Rocky Mount Senior High School, she moved to Miami. She attended Wilford Beauty Academy for Cosmetology, where she graduated in 1985. That same year she met her mentor Cuzzie “Curley” King and began working at Curley’s Beauty Salon at 19. After her mentor died in 1998, she continued operating the business as the owner and also started Curley’s House, a not-for-profit, as a tribute to her mentor’s legacy. Curley’s House provides food for over 5,000 households per month in the Miami area. Spicer has been an activist for the people in the area for over twenty years.

The Electric Thrill Is Gone

The Electric Thrill Is Gone

Suddenly now faced with the possibility that they will have to share the once exclusive Twitter playground, where they were allowed to bully others and even kick them off, they are having meltdowns. Some are threatening to leave the playground altogether and never return. Hopefully, Musk will be able to return the once electric thrill that Twitter once had and…

Can We Still Trust… But How Do We Verify?

Can We Still Trust… But How Do We Verify?

How do you decide who is worthy of your trust? And just how far do you take that trust. Sure, Ronald Reagan said, “Trust, but verify.” But how far should we be willing to trust others? Today, I want to look at a few examples of the public trust being violated…

When You Go Woke, You Go Broke

When You Go Woke, You Go Broke

When will these companies learn to stay in their own lanes and do what they do best? Either entertain us with their products and services or face the wrath of the consumers when they close their wallets. As former President Donald Trump once said, during one of his rallies, “woke equals broke.”

Coercion is the Primary Tool of Government

Coercion is the Primary Tool of Government

From schools to Washington, D.C., those in government don’t simply employ their just powers to protect our rights; they get their way by coercion. Sadly, by accepting the bribes of the politicians, most Americans have opened themselves to this coercion. So what can we do to regain control of our nation?

Times Up For Kevin McCarthy, He Can Not Be Speaker

Times Up For Kevin McCarthy, He Can Not Be Speaker

Following the release of a tape with the Minority Leader conferring with Liz Cheney about Trump being responsible for Jan. 6, there is no doubt he is not the person for the Speaker position. The Congressman has denied blaming former President Trump for the events of Jan. 6, but clearly, it is his voice on the tape speaking with Cheney…

RIP – Woke CNN+ Goes Belly Up

CNN+ had promised to deliver high-end content that subscribers would not want to miss. According to news insiders, Zucker plunked down nearly $300 million to get the service up and running. Before the streaming service’s debut, he got canned by the network earlier this year for having an alleged affair with a consenting colleague…

Seeking Redress

Seeking Redress

This right is often overlooked, not just by government, but by the people as well. Federal courts use the concepts of sovereign or qualified immunity to protect government actors from the consequences of their bad actions. So, where does that leave your right to seek a redress for your grievances?
