I remember being told as a child that “ignorance of the law is no excuse.” But what if those who are supposed to uphold the law are the ones who are ignorant? The reason John Jay said each and every one of us should read and study the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, was so we would know what our rights are and recognize when they are being violated.

Today, let’s look at some examples of ignorance of the law and the damage it has caused. You may think that what you don’t know can’t hurt you, but it’s what you know that just isn’t so that really gets you in trouble.
