Love may make the world go round, but money makes it smoother. So when we find out that something terrible happens, or that someone doesn’t have enough, people have a natural instinct to want to do something. Sadly it seems that our most common reaction is to ask the federal government to steal that money for us to assuage our guilt. From disaster relief to the poor, from paying for schools to paying for healthcare, we all seem to want the bullies based in Washington, D.C., or our state houses to collect money for us. Yet few seem to consider the consequences of such actions. The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Today, we’ll look at some of the evils that come out of our collective love of spending other people’s money.
