It’s only been a year since President Joe Biden officially became President Joe Biden, but it’s hard to remember a worse week for poor ol’ Joe than this past one. But then again, it’s even more challenging to remember a good week for this cognitively crippled Democrat.
The President can’t pull himself away from his worn thin fibs about the pandemic. But, no, Joe, today’s explosion of the Omicron variant isn’t a pandemic of the “unvaccinated.” Quite the contrary, Omicron could care less if you’re vaccinated or not. Perhaps if you’re vaccinated, you won’t get quite as sick from this variant, but that’s still to be demonstrated.
Second, the President has just doubled his order for home antigen COVID-19 testing kits. Not ordering home tests since March of 2021, Joe expects manufacturers to deliver one billion tests by the end of January. They are sure to arrive after the scourge of Omicron has passed. The President had opportunities in May and September of 2021 to order more home test kits. But instead, he followed the misguided advice he’s routinely receiving from Dr. Anthony Fauci and turned these prudent opportunities down.
Third, instead of following prior President Trump’s lead and establishing a “Warp Speed” program to rush the development of anti-viral therapeutics, again, Dr. Fauci advised full speed ahead on a vaccination-only effort to corral COVID. All this while the initial COVID vaccine formula is increasingly ineffective against new variants.
Fourth, the Supreme Court voted 6-to-3 against the President’s unconstitutional mandate to require employers of 100 employees or more to force their workers to get vaccinated or be terminated.
Fifth, Drs. Fauci and Rochelle Walensky, the CDC Director, testified about the administration’s progress, or lack of it, against COVID-19 before the Senate’s Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Unfortunately, their testimony was little more than three hours of obfuscation, misdirection, and disingenuous happy talk about their forthcoming efforts.
Finally, as if all this wasn’t enough bad news for one week, two Democrat Senators defied the President, telling him they were not going to vote for a change in the Senate’s filibuster rule. The consequence; the President’s Marxist legislative agenda is dead before arrival on Capitol Hill.
