In the Preamble of the Constitution, we find the reason for that document and the purposes behind its drafting.

One of those reasons was to “Establish Justice.”

Not Social Justice or Economic Justice, but just plain justice, which, according to Noah Webster and his 1828 dictionary, is “The virtue which consists in giving to everyone what is his due; practical conformity to the laws and to principles of rectitude [rightness] in the dealings of men with each other.”

So if we are to have justice in America, we need both just laws and the just application of those laws.

Today, I want to look at some recent events to see if we have established justice in America or has the virtue and principle of rightness have been lost to us.
