Emotions are powerful feelings that can be used as weapons against the weak and uninformed. Unfortunately, when these emotions are not kept in check during times of crisis, they can lead to bad decisions being made, which gives way to destruction.
The hosts of “After Dark,” along with returning guest journalist Heather Robinson delve into the art of emotions and how the media is seemingly using war pictures of the sufferings of Ukrainians to elicit emotions of the American public. The end game is to get America further involved in the Russian Ukraine conflict with boots on the ground. This would be a monumental mistake, for no good would come from it. Only death and bloodshed would come to America should we be guided by emotions to enter into a war where we have no interest. We understand that the horrific pictures being seen on television and social media are heart-wrenching, but we simply can not allow that to be the emotional crutch to foolishly sacrifice American lives.
Heather Robinson is a New York-based freelance journalist who regularly contributes to The New York Post, Jewish News Syndicate, the U.S. Spectator, and other publications. She has appeared as a pundit on “CNN with Anderson Cooper” and Fox News’s “Geraldo At Large,” discussing human rights, popular culture, and the Mideast. She has also worked as a college writing instructor at New York University and Touro College in Brooklyn.
