One in ten people in the world lacks adequate access to fresh water. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, the so-called water crisis is the #5 global risk in terms of impact on society. Nearly 1.5 times the population of the entire United States lives without a household water connection. These people, especially women and children, must spend time getting water instead of going to school or working or caring for their families.
But, thanks to the discoveries of Robert (Bob) Bisson, founder of EarthWater Global, all this is changing, and for the GOOD. It turns out that there are vast untapped fresh water supplies draining down from the high mountains, deep underground, and under-ocean, rivers of water. Even in the middle of deserts, deep wells can be drilled to tap into high-pressure water flowing through “megawatersheds.”
Bob joins us today to describe this amazing news. In 1972 Bob founded his own company, bci-Geonetics. His company uses technologies familiar to the oil and gas industries to find and develop renewable, previously overlooked groundwater resources. It was then while drilling for minerals, that he began to encounter groundwater, lots of it, in fractured bedrock.
Over the last three decades, Bob has developed enormous quantities of water in areas of the world previously thought to be water-constrained. For example, in 1999, the island of Tobago was amidst a severe water crisis. Hoping to avoid a 5-10 year wait for alternative water supplies and significant environmental damage from a proposed dam, government authorities hired Bob’s company, EarthWater, to map and develop new water resources. Within twelve months, they had identified over 190,000 m3/day of new capacity, an amount one hundred times previous incremental groundwater estimates, and delivered 19,000 m3/day to the Island’s waterlines.
There was a similar story with Bob in Somalia and Sudan, for example. It could be the same for California if they take action to tap into the vast network of underground megawatersheds Bob has discovered.
Tune in and learn about this phenomenally good news for everyone!
