We all expect the Blue Democrat-controlled states to be in sync with today’s politically driven CDC Covid-19 policies on issues such as face masks for children attending school and mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations for teachers, staff, and adolescents 12 years and older.
Even in the Red states like Florida, School Districts in Democrat-controlled counties follow strict mandatory masking policies. In contrast, those School Districts in Red counties allow parents to make masking children optional.
Given this bizarre political party allegiance to healthcare protocols, it’s not surprising that Blue State School Boards also follow their political party’s policy positions on critical school issues.
These issues include Critical Race Theory indoctrination (CRT), support of transgender ideology, suspension-leniency for misbehavior by students of color, and other so-called “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” initiatives. Moreover, it’s usual to find most School Board members in districts with heavy concentrations of registered Democrats list themselves as “progressive” Democrats or “Woke” board activists.
These “Social Justice” warriors believe it’s their responsibility to propose and vote in favor of School District policies that promote and support the elimination of systemic racism, white privilege, and gender discrimination.
While a county’s general Democrat voting population may support these progressive School Board initiatives, these “woke” policies have not gone over well for most students. Most certainly, most parents are dead set against these policy initiatives, regardless of their party affiliation.
In general, Progressive Democrats, particularly the radical Progressives who favor Socialist and Neo-Marxist ideology, have taken advantage of George Floyd’s murder, the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the Legacy Media’s reporting bias in favor of progressive ideology.
Progressives have politicized George Floyd’s murder by a White Police Officer as a prime example of rampant, systemic racism. Furthermore, progressives leveraged the biased media’s promoting this belief.
The Covid-19 pandemic closed all public schools for months on end. Progressive School Boards took advantage of this time to hire, at considerable public expense, Equity consulting firms to conduct “Equity Assessments” of their School District. Armed with these self-confirming studies, School Boards hired these same firms to help them incorporate Critical Race Theory tenets and principles throughout K-12 lessons. As parents prepared for the return of their children to full-time, in-person, in-class instruction, they discovered their School Boards had ordered new CRT and transgender ideologies inserted into school curricula and policies. Unfortunately, when parents questioned their Boards about these changes, Boards refused to enter into a dialogue or explain their actions. As a result, parents are organizing and mobilizing in 100s of Districts in opposition to these progressive “Social Justice” impositions.
