New Variant XE, Removal of Monoclonal Antibodies and Q&A 18 on America Out Loud PULSE
New COVID-19 Variant XE Discovered ⏤ A COVID-19 Omicron subvariant — XE- was first discovered in the UK. The subvariant is compromised of genetic material from the two Omicron strains of BA.1 and BA.2. More Transmissible Than Omicron: WHO – WHO noted that early estimates suggest a community growth rate of 10 percent more than BA.2
“Given the current high level of transmission worldwide, it is likely that further variants, including recombinants, will continue to emerge. Recombination is common among coronaviruses and is regarded as an expected mutational event,” the WHO said in a recent update.
Removal of monoclonal antibodies ⏤ Emerging data suggest that the drug doesn’t work against BA.2, a subvariant of the Omicron coronavirus variant, reports the FDA. The FDA decided that any region where BA.2 is pegged as causing a majority of COVID-19 cases can no longer administer sotrovimab.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky Announces Sweeping Review of Agency ⏤ “At the conclusion of this collective effort, we will develop new systems and processes to deliver our science and program to the American people, along with a plan for how CDC should be structured to facilitate the public health work we do,” Walensky said.
Here are a few examples of the kind of questions that we will address on the program today ⏤
Ed ⏤ Does the J&J adenoviral vaccine do what the mRNA vaccines do to the body – such as stay in the body for 60+ days while continuously producing spike protein, go to lymph nodes and ovaries, reverse transcribe into the human genome, and weaken the immune system to potentially increase cancer?
Cheryl ⏤ We hear that blood clots are one of the reported adverse events of the covid shot. We also hear that blood clots are a threat if we have the virus. Which is the greater risk of clots?
Olivia ⏤ I’d like to ask Dr. McCullough a question regarding ‘shedding’ of the spike protein from the vaccinated to the unvaccinated. I have bought a house and am concerned if there is any risk from the previous occupants.
Mallory ⏤ I had a mild case of covid in May of 2020. I recently tested and do not have antibodies but I do have T cells. Should I have protection against getting very I’ll if I get reinfected again, or should I get one dose of the vaccine?
Mary ⏤ I would like to offer my brother some studies that show the effectiveness of Ivermectin in treating Covid 19. He continues to claim that studies have shown no reduction in illness or hospitalization. Can you provide that information for me, please?
