Not withstanding the Republican party’s loss of the House to Democrats, Republicans are still rushing to complete a spending bill contrary to the needs of the people!
For example, Trump campaigned on building a wall between Mexico and the US, to stem the tide of the thousands of poor, disease ridden people swarming up here expecting to find work, while taxing our resources for education, housing and healthcare, to which they contribute very little while at the same time substituting their own cultures for ours.
Trump asked for $5 billion dollars for the wall. The Republicans when they had both houses of congress and the presidency could have made that happen. They promised, but they failed to deliver because they hate Trump too! Now, soon to be in charge of the House, the Democrats will have none of it so there we are, stymied by greedy politicians, Republicans and Democrats alike while our country is being crapped on. They are a “uni-party,” determined to stay in power at all costs and, to them, Trump is the enemy. Did I just describe the Deep State?
I have an impeccable source who has alerted me to the continuing malfeasance in the political process which includes a huge spike in wasteful spending as a result of the increases demanded from the “Bipartisan” Budget Act of 2018 and the FY2018 Omnibus spending bill.
When I hear a politician use the words “Omnibus” and “Bipartisan” together when it comes to spending my money, I instinctively know we’re about to be screwed. Here’s the picture:  The Omnibus Spending Bill is 2,232 pages of favoritism with a $1.3 trillion price tag. Figure that one out. I think our congress must conclude that at $582 million a page, it’s probably enough for this time. Notably, it does not include President Trumps request for the wall.
It does include $40 million in subsidies for the Washington DC opera house, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts but, no wall funding. Now, I don’t go there, so why am I paying for that? If I do want to go, I’ll buy a ticket. The OSB includes $1.5 billion for BUILD Grants (once known as Transportation Investment Generating Recovery, TIGER, grants) for surface transportation projects. I hope it doesn’t include bailing out Ca. Gov. Moonbeam Browns high speed rail track from nowhere to nowhere else or, another silly one destination streetcar in Atlanta that nobody rides. But, It doesn’t add funding for Trump’s wall.
Also, didn’t President Trump call for that program, a remnant of Obama’s failed stimulus law, to be eliminated? But It hasn’t. Why? Aren’t grants supposed to focus on national infrastructure projects? If so, how does small pedestrian and bike paths qualify? Maybe they mean a bike path along the new “Border Wall” so Border Patrol agents can patrol at cost saving levels!
We also see $3.3 Billion allocated for the Community Development Block Grants program, which hasn’t been authorized since 1994. Trump proposed eliminating it, but, $150 Billion has already been spent on this useless project since 1974. Why? Is it any good? The program doesn’t target the poorest of our population In fact, it hasn’t demonstrated any positive results at all. To even the most casual observer, it’s loaded with more examples of wasteful spending and squandered funds on useless projects because of incompetent mismanagement then I’ve outlined.
The Deep State swamp creatures have recovered and are fighting back. They will have their little perks and their favorite projects to be funded by us that only garners votes to keep them in office. I’m convinced that term limits are desperately required.
Remember, liberty is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!
