The facts are indisputable. Schools have become breeding grounds in teaching our children to become activists. Politics have been weaponized to destroy free thought and dissenting opinions. The military standards, it seems, are becoming so weak and woke that it is questionable of its ability to defend our great country. Our election process, once a light of democracy, has lost its integrity.

There is no more sugar-coating it. “Our country is broken, and it needs to be fixed.” This is the observation from Keith Swank, who shares his story with “After Dark With Rob And Andrew.” Swank is running for Congress in Washington States’ 10th congressional district. He believes the culture in Washington DC is why the country is broken, with Democrats and Republicans fighting against each other. In some cases, he says, even Republicans are against the other. Those Republicans not standing for the party principles should be “primaried,” he said. Because Democrats have been able to define Republicans, their messaging has gone out with the help of the media unchallenged. “We (Republicans) haven’t pushed back…we are afraid of being labeled the party of old white men. (They) already labeled you racist. We must go out and tell the truth. Talk about liberty and freedom and the right to pursue happiness, our natural rights given to us by God.” The congressional candidate said it is the Republican Party that freed the slave and supported civil rights, not the Democrats.

If elected, the military veteran said bringing integrity back to our elections is one of his key goals. In addition, his focus will be on overhauling the broken immigration process, improving border security, including the completion of a border wall, providing tax relief, reducing spending and the deficit, expanding energy independence, and protecting all of the rights laid out in the Constitution.

Keith Swank is a United States Army Airborne Infantry veteran and a thirty-year veteran Police Commander for the Seattle, Washington Police Department. He grew up on a small farm in rural Pennsylvania, where he learned a strong work ethic. Swank spent the first 15 years of his career as a patrol officer and was promoted to sergeant. He was assigned to the 911 Center and stayed there for four years, part of the time as the second in command of over 100 employees. Swank returned to patrol as a sergeant for a few years before being promoted to lieutenant, where he spent two tours as a watch commander. He oversaw a section of the city and had 50 officers and sergeants working with him. In between his two stints as a watch commander, he was second in command of the training unit. In 2017, he was promoted to captain and worked as the Night Duty Commander (the highest-ranking officer in the city at night). Currently, he is the commander of the Metro Special Response Section (SWAT, Harbor Patrol, Canine Unit, Arson Bomb Squad) in Seattle.
