I often say and, do so again, that Progressives will use any opportunity to turn a prosperous, well functioning America into top down Socialist controlled economic disaster areas, like Cuba and Venezuela. Marx and Lenin proposed some inane idea that a trained elite class of “experts” is better equipped to satisfy the needs of the “deplorable’s” (middle class) than the deplorable’s can do for themselves. Constitutions and religions are not necessary when you have all knowing experts! And, after all, shared misery proves it. But, because America’s very existence proves otherwise, it must be destroyed.
I recognized the hand of a developing police state under the guise of protecting us from the China Virus pandemic. Fear is the driving force. Police officers in one Texas jurisdiction were ordered to issue citations to parishioners sitting in their cars, tuned in to their pastors on a wifi broadcast, a violation of the 1st amendment. That is our freedoms threatened by a toothless tyranny.
Next step is a totalitarian tyranny. It was said that the officers issuing the tickets were nice and apologetic but, a “Notice to Appear” requires a signature promising to do so. What if a parishioner refused to sign his ticket? He/she has to be taken into custody to assure their appearance?
Here we are then, at the brink of a toothless tyranny.
If a Progressive oriented judge should agree that a mayors orders for all citizens to stay quarantined was valid and ruled the citations issued to church goers were valid, then we have entered the realm of actual tyranny.
Some jurisdictions have actually ordered Churches to be close. Imagine that! The words in the 1st Amendment make no exceptions that allow for despotism. Simply put, the State is prohibited from interfering with any citizens exercise of his religion and the State can’t have a religion.
The Plot Thickens! The Governor of California, a potential Democrat contender for the Presidency in 2024, has become a despot in his own state ordering sweeping lock downs of everybody. He might effect the pandemic issue to some peoples satisfaction, but not his violating the Constitution. In one California jurisdiction, Santa Cruz to be exact, an unelected health department official has ordered beaches and parks closed for a least a week because: “too many of us are visiting the beach for leisure rather than recreation.” Now, that’s a true nincompoop!
The shrill media cries about who to blame for this pandemic threat has instilled fear in some and captured the imagination of others. Orders to “stay in place,” stay six feet apart, and wear a mask, signals a dangerous but fundamental change in how normal American citizens are going to recognize authority in the future. We are definitely being coerced into blindly obeying our betters the next time we’re told we’re in danger regardless of our own notions of what that danger really is. We’re lied to all the time and I for one am getting damn sick and tired of it.
The Leftist media tells us we must obey the “experts.” They have advised the governors, mayors and lower level public officials (aparatchek’s) on how to control us deplorable’s in an emergency, so we are safe.
It is working you know! We’re being taught to do what we’re told without asking questions. Why? Because our betters told us so. Wait until the next “emergency” arrives!
I mentioned Santa Cruz, Ca. but I didn’t include this gem. Santa Cruz County also forbade surfing. That’s what Santa Cruz is for. Smoking pot and surfing, yet surfers hate getting close to one another out on the waves. They don’t congregate and they’re nearly willing to kill if you get in their way of having a good ride. The reasons are inexplicable but probably Santa Cruz wants to keep the mobs of Silicon Valley millennials from coming over the mountain to enjoy a vacation on the sea. Beware, this is petty tyranny and we’re seeing it everywhere.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ’em!
