Before anyone pounces on the title and denounces me over claiming that overturning Roe v Wade may lead us down a road to destruction, let’s be crystal clear about my perspectives. For the entirety of my politically-minded life, I have fought to overturn Roe v. Wade. It is unambiguously a victory that we need to celebrate. With that said, the radical left (or as we should really start calling them, the left in general) will use this as a predicate to rain down chaos and divide the nation.
I’ll take it. We need this. As Justice Samuel Alito noted in the draft decision:
Our sole authority is to exercise ‘judgment’ – which is to say, the authority to judge what the law means and how it should apply to the case at hand….The Court’s inability to end debate on the issue should not have been surprising. This Court cannot bring about the permanent resolution of a rancorous national controversy simply by dictating a settlement and telling the people to move on….We do not pretend to know how our political system or society will respond to today’s decision overruling Roe and Casey. And even if we could foresee what will happen, we would have no authority to let that knowledge influence our decision.
On today’s episode of The JD Rucker Political Report on America Out Loud Talk Radio, I explained why this has two major spiritual repercussions for our nation. I also dove into why this was leaked in the first place. Those who oppose the decision within the Supreme Court leaked it to try to apply more political pressure on the five justices who are signing onto it. Their hope is twofold. They want the pressure to possibly change one justice’s mind. If that can’t happen, they want to raise hell in America.
We are going to see an increase of both politics being pushed into the judiciary and the judiciary being pushed into politics. Neither is appropriate. Both are unconstitutional. The judiciary is supposed to be apolitical, taking only interpretations of the Constitution and understanding of the rule of law into account with all of their decisions. This is impossible, of course, but getting as close to perfect as we can is the goal.
There are two possible spiritual outcomes from all of this, and they’re not mutually exclusive. I can see one, the other, or both happening, but I do not think it’s possible for neither to happen.
The first is national repentance. Throughout the Bible, men prayed for their nations. We know that God will punish nations who sin and redeem nations who repent. The United States has been in spiritual decline ever since the series of events in the 1960s and early 1970s that set us down a path against the Bible. Everything from removing prayer from schools to allowing abortion nationwide degraded our country on a spiritual level. This decision may mark the beginning of a reversal in our nation’s spiritual standing.
The other option is that this will spark a new series of destructive elements in America, particularly from the radical left. It was noteworthy that on “May Day” this year, Antifa and other domestic terrorists were relatively light. As a friend reminded me, they are less likely to get too violent when Democrats are in charge. This decision will spark much more dramatic terrorism.
It will divide the nation even further than it already is. That’s not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but it can lead to a polarization that compels more people into extreme actions.
Overall, Roe v. Wade getting overturned is wonderful, but that does not mean we should get complacent. We need to be ready for whatever actions from the radical left come. They aren’t going to take this well, and we need to prepare to defend ourselves and our nation.
