The definition of the word ‘treason,’ according to The American Heritage Dictionary (1985), is “Violation of allegiance toward one’s country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one’s own country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.

The ‘sovereign’ of the United States is not a person, but all the people. Technically one could say that the sovereign of the United States is the US Constitution. Treason, then, is a violation of allegiance toward the US Constitution.

The definition of ‘insurrection’ (same source) is “An act or instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government.”

The Constitution defines ‘treason’ somewhat more stringently than does the dictionary:  Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” The reason for this more stringent definition is that ‘treason’ was charged very liberally by King George III (and other kings preceding him), and our founders wanted to be very sure that the charge of ‘treason’ would never be used as a political weapon – as had so often been the case in England. Because of this, it is perfectly legal for an American citizen to commit treason against the United States, as long as it is not committed during times of war, and as long as the act of treason does not constitute some other offense, such as espionage or insurrection.

I am going to grant that the United States is not currently in a state of war, and as such, none of the acts I am going to label as ‘treason’ fit the definition of that word in the US Constitution. I will use the dictionary definition instead. We may be the only country on Earth where treason can be legal – and as we shall see, on the political left, treason has replaced baseball as “America’s Pastime.”

The ‘Summer of Love’ Autonomous Zones created in Portland, OR, as well as other cities across the United States, were acts of treason as well as insurrection. The Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA riots that broke out across the country over the same time period, and that continue to break out to this day, are by definition, insurrections.

When protestors broke onto the White House grounds, forcing the Secret Service to sweep Donald Trump and his family away to the White House bunker on May 29, 2020, that too was both an act of treason as well as an insurrection.

When protestors stormed the floor of the Senate to try and prevent, first Brett Kavanaugh and later Amy Coney Barrett from being confirmed for the Supreme Court, both events were insurrections.

If you count every BLM/ANTIFA riot across the country, we’ve had hundreds of insurrections and tens of thousands of acts of insurrection and treason – in many cases, by people who are being paid to commit those acts of insurrection and treason. Very few of these people ever get prosecuted, and when they are prosecuted, left-leaning groups pay their legal bills.

Hunter Biden has committed numerous acts of treason, as did the entire Democratic National Committee with the ‘Russian Collusion’ narrative that hamstrung the Trump Presidency. The Democratic leadership knew that story was a lie, and they spread it anyway with the goal of taking down the sitting President of the United States.

Malcolm recently told me my favorite phrase has become ‘well funded cabal.’ This may be true – the Time Magazine article about the well funded cabal celebrated what can only be called the largest act of treason in American history.

Treason is celebrated by the American left, which may be why Hunter Biden is allowed to commit open acts of treason and insurrection in ways that probably cross the line into espionage as well. There is quite a bit of evidence linking President Joe Biden to those crimes.

Jennifer Granholm committed treason just the other day when she said we can learn a lot from China on how to handle climate change. John Kerry committed treason when he said that our relationship with China in terms of maintaining access to solar panels and rare-earth materials necessary for ‘renewable energy’ is more important than the genocide China is currently committing (and has committed in the past), and more important than the open acts of aggression China continues to commit against the United States. John Kerry aids and abets our enemy, even as our enemy expands its co2 production at twice the rate the rest of the world is decreasing co2.

Our electric and natural gas rates are exploding to reduce co2 levels, while China builds more than one coal-fired power plant each and every week. John Kerry supports this madness.

Jane Fonda suggested last week that the best way to deal with the loss of Roe v Wade is to murder Republican politicians. The View said she was joking, but when asked directly whether or not she was joking, Jane Fonda said nothing. This is the same Jane Fonda that committed treason, as defined in the Constitution, during the Vietnam War. Hanoi Jane was never held accountable for giving aid and comfort to North Vietnam during an active period of war, so it is no surprise that she will not be held accountable for calling for the murder of sitting members of Congress and the Supreme Court.

The insurrection narrative of January 6, 2021- the one case Democrats have where Republicans committed an insurrection – is, in the meantime, starting to fall apart.

According to the official narrative, Officer Brian Sicknick was beaten so badly with a fire extinguisher that he later died from his wounds. According to time-stamped video from the Capital Building on January 6, 2021, Office Sicknick was giving protestors a guided tour of the Capital Building two hours after the beating supposedly took place. The truth is that Brian Sicknick died of natural causes unrelated to the events of January 6, 2021.

According to the official narrative, Jake Angeli (the ‘QAnon Shaman,’ as he is more commonly known) was the center of a massive insurrection against the Capital Building. According to time-stamped video from the Capital Building on January 6, 2021, Jake Angeli was calmly and slowly given a tour of the Capital Building, at times surrounded by as many as seven police officers, all of whom chatted very calmly with Jake Angeli. Jake Angeli was polite, and he consistently followed police officer instructions.

Did Jake Angeli commit a crime on January 6, 2021? Yes, he did – he trespassed. He was convicted of sparking an insurrection, but his case will have to go to court again now that it turns out that the prosecution withheld exculpatory evidence. There is video evidence of the police and FBI removing barricades and inviting crowds of protestors onto the Capital grounds and into the Capital Building. Based on that evidence, Jake Angeli may even be able to claim entrapment on the trespassing charge.

The FBI investigated January 6, 2021, and determined that it was not an insurrection, but a spontaneous protest that turned into a riot. The FBI then started to investigate people for committing an insurrection that, by the FBI’s own admission, did not occur. Six members of the Proud Boys, and Jake Angeli, were even found guilty of committing the insurrection that did not occur. Various members of Congress, along with former President Trump, are still under investigation for contributing to an insurrection that never occurred.

Now, I’m not defending the Proud Boys, who were found guilty of insurrection. It is entirely possible for a handful of people to commit an insurrection that the rest of the rioters were not guilty of. I also have not brought up the curious case of Ray Epps, and I would only be speculating if I tried to claim I knew how all the pipe bombs that were found got where they were found. Suffice it to say that as more information gets released to the public, more will be known. For now, I’m satisfied simply saying that the whole January 6 narrative is getting blown wide open, leaving the political left without a credible story of insurrection committed by the political right – not that the lack of a credible story will stop the telling of the tale. The mainstream media will continue to call January 6 an ‘insurrection’ regardless of what the evidence says and will continue to use that narrative to attack prominent Republicans.

The lesson we can learn from the left’s treatment of insurrections (real and otherwise) is that as far as the left is concerned, laws only exist to the degree that they can be used as weapons against the political right. There is no expectation that the political left will follow the law, and in fact, the political left is refusing to enforce laws in big cities around the country, causing an explosion in crime.

At the same time, we have a backlash against self-defense.

There are around 20,000 murders committed with guns in the United States every year (there were 19,384 in 2020 – the last year for which statistics are currently available). Roughly half of those involve illegally owned guns, so the total number of people murdered by legally owned guns is about 10,000 a year. The left wants to ban private gun ownership to save around 10,000 people per year.

The CDC stopped reporting defensive gun use just a little more than a month ago, but according to the CDC’s reporting, guns stop more than 2.5 million violent crimes a year, more than 400,000 of which would have led to death. If the left cared about crime, they might note that for every person murdered by a legally owned gun in the United States, 40 people are saved by them, and 250 violent crimes are prevented.

We always hear the phrase, “If it saves but one life, it is worth it,” but in this case, saving that one life means sacrificing 40 more lives and having 210 additional violent crimes. Are we willing to see 40 people murdered and 210 women raped for every life we save?

Of course not – the truth is that the left does not care about crime, except to the degree that they can weaponize it against the political right.

The greatest threat to our country isn’t insurrection, nor exploding crime rates. The greatest threat, rather, is the normalization of those two things. Those who wish to destroy our country are free to commit crimes galore, to commit treason, to take money from our enemies, and to commit insurrection, all while throwing those who want to prevent such things in jail.

Respectfully… how can you say we are not at war? 1). Biden & the Left have weaponized the 3 letter agencies against the Right, and called US “Enemies of the State.” 2). UKRAINE
