“If you don’t plant a seed, it won’t grow” is the message from James Spencer, a former United States Marine, has for Republicans in California. Spencer is running for California Assemblyman in District 61. He said he believes Republicans can turn California red if they packaged their messages to blacks and supported more outside conservative candidates.
Spencer explains to the hosts of “After Dark” that the only thing Democrats have done for blacks down through the years is tell them to “Be patient. Be patient” and then blacks vote for them, and nothing ever gets done. The military veteran hopes to change that should he win the California primary Tuesday, June 7.
This isn’t his first election for public office. He has run before and although he didn’t win those elections, he said, he was planting the seed to establish himself as a Republican in the community. He said more Republicans need to do the same and support candidates like himself in order to reach a larger base.
